One more official reject of the Zambrano-Wickman trade, plus a PM to me this morning voting NO. That PM must be followed up through the Yahoo! site before it's an official reject vote.

The Jackass send SS D.Jeter to Presley's Killahs for RP T.Worrell, RP D.Weathers and 2B R.Weeks.
It drastically improves Presley but doesn't help Jackass much at all, especially long term.
Presley has 9 relievers, so they have no value to him. Worrell is on borrowed time as closer and Weathers is garbage. For Jackass, Weeks is only average, and not much of an upgrade over Castillo/Kennedy. Jeter is a top 3 SS, a position where Presley is currently starting the worst in the league, Mark Ellis.
This trade is an average 2B and two poor relievers who don't improve one club for a top notch SS that dramatically helps another.Comment -

David Weathers *is* the Reds closer, has 3 saves and is not in danger at all of losing his role. Last year he took over the job in the 2nd half and saved 15 games while having a decent era under 4. I'd literally be shocked if he didn't *atleast* get 25 for the season.
Rickie Weeks...I know this won't be a popular opinion but Weeks has a very solid chance of matching Jeter in homeruns, steals and possibly rbis. Jackass doesn't need a shortstop because he has Reyes...but could use an upgrade at 2nd. He only has one closer..but adding 2 more will almost assure him of winning the saves category close to 70% of the time or better now.
Like you said I'm trading from a strength to improve a weakness..and I am. I've got another option at 2nd for the future and Mark Ellis has been thus far dead weight. Both teams are trying to cover each's weaknesses and I think that's what a fair trade is supposed to be.Comment -

#81Two reject votes so far...
I believe there are several perceptions regarding this trade going on...
a) People probably look at the trade from the MLB angle. If Jeter was being traded for Weeks, Worrell and Weathers, would that be a good trade for both clubs? Not saying that it's right to look at it from that angle, just speculating that it might be how some people are looking at it.
b) Whether it's a real MLB trade or a fantasy trade, when a player of Jeter's stature gets dealt, people expect a player of equal stature to be coming in return. Or, if you deal an 'A+' player, you should get an 'A-' and a 'B' in return.
c) It's the third trade attempt in about a week between the same two teams. That will always cause eyebrows to be raised.Comment -

#82The Killahs could trade him four relievers & Weeks and it would still be a terrible fantasy baseball deal. Presley is getting a huge upgrade at his weakest position while Jackass is making slight improvement in one category, which he'll still be weak in anyway.
Jackass has already given away a top 20 pitcher and top 20 outfielder for free and now he's attempting his third lop-sided trade. Either he's cheating or he's just a moron. Either way it disturbs the competitive balance of the league and absolutely should not be allowed. He's ruining this league, and that's fuucking unacceptable with $500 on the line.
Originally posted by presley177I even spoke out against the Pettite deal but I won't on this one... there's absolutely no evidence or any sign or any quote or anything that says Benitez gets the job when he comes off the disabled list. *****Also if he somehow did...I wouldn't mind ---trading Benitez to Jackass-- for whatever player he wants(as long as Jeter stays healthy and wouldn't be currently injured)...Willie Bee could make sure I'd follow through...but atleast Worrell or Benitez will be the closer and I'm saying right now..whoever it is I'll give them to Jackass for compensation.

#83Dear Ricky
Please stop sending me trade offers. I am getting tired of rejecting them. No you cannot have Lance Berkman for two dudes and you cannot have Berkman and Reyes for two other dudes and a concession stand guy. I hope you picked up Bonderman and Floyd. Consider them my gift to you.
Dear Owned
I offered you Jeter but you have nobody on your team. How you managed to go through the draft and pick nobody is real accomplishment. We tried to work something out for Pettite or Jeter but you would have needed to do a 3 way deal but with that bunch of no names on your roster guess you couldn't get it done.
Dear Presley
You are a wise and astute owner who understands what both owners are trying to accomplish. You understand that this trade and the one we did before improves both teams and makes the league more competitive. Having the closers of three teams (Worrell will not lose his job to Benitez) make me competitive in a catagory where I was defenseless. You realize that I have quietly assemble a fine young pitching staff and that I still have two proven quality starters in Pettite and Sabathia that Zambrano will not be missed. You also see that I had two quality SS and that I can't play them both every day without sacrificing a slot where I would be able to put a power hitter.
Dear Commisioner
Thank you for trying to keep the owners in line. Personal attacks and foul language have no place among gentelman. I know this is a work in progress but I am confident you will prevail.Comment -

#100Rich, I have not reset controls of your team. A couple of friends in another league have been having problems staying logged in at Yahoo! while they're making lineup changes. One had his issue resolved by using Firefox instead of IE. Not sure what your particular issue was, but that might be a possible fix.
Also to let everyone know, I have assumed controls of the Tequila Slammers since I was unable to reach their owner. If and when my Fog playes the Slammers, I'll ask someone else to decide on specific moves for that week.Comment -
