doog, i see ur focusing on the parlays now (an extension, i'm sure from your work of mushing good-cappers' picks into a slate...which was working well for you until one of your cornerstone cappers effectively went on tilt, unfortunately just about the time you started this thread)...

If straight-up sports-betting is like blackjack (few chips up/down/up grinding), then parlays is like a slot machine (long drawdowns waiting for a big hit--or a few clumped together--which can make it all so worthwhile)...

how's ur experience with ur parlays been over your months of carefully dabbling with them...

Professor, you hit the nail in the coffin. The thread was an effort to boost up my personal pride for my own capping skills. However, it's tough to ignore some of the talent on this thread. I thought it would be a good idea to take an "average" from all the "best-of-the-best" on SBR. As you mentioned, some of the cappers just are not disciplined enough to stay the course. After further thought, I've decided to stick with what works for me in the past that has made me money with the sportsbook. Now, I cap the games, look at the other cappers to determine the weight value, and put in the games we agree on in a parlay. I do not allow the cappers to influence my sway as in the past. Sure, I can post all my straight best, which is awefully time consuming, but my thread wouldn't be any different. I am still betting straight, but as far as this thread is concerned my "niche" will be parlays from now on. If you look at last week I almost hit a 12 teamer and 8 teamer on the same day. If those came in I would have been up over 1000 units. Tell me who is up a thousand units on this site. Anyway, we all know parlays are longs shots but if you are good like me, you'll find yourself ripping off a nail or two wondering if this is the day those last few games will win you the lottery.
