    Blue Jays @ Tigers

Blue Jays and Tigers both have very good 1st inning offenses, with Toronto ranked 2nd in the league. On the mound for the Blue Jays today is Zach Stewart, who will pitch his 3rd game ever in the MLB, and has allowed one first inning run in two games. For the Tigers, Max Scherzer is an exceptional pitcher, who has posted a remarkable 0.14 YES/NO ratio and a solid season average of 0.19 RIF. With both teams having good 1st inning batters, I'm going to take the YES. From what I see, the Tigers and their 7th ranked first inning offense should get at least one run in the first inning against a very inexperience pitcher. Take the YES.

Also, take DET Score First. Detroit has an outstanding pitcher named Max Scherzer on the mound, while Toronto has a young pitcher who is looking for his first win. That says enough.

If you are wondering what the brackets are next to the team rank, that is what the lean is based on the statistic. For example, the Cardinals are 16th in the MLB in 1st inning runs per game which is almost the exact middle, so I put a dash because it doesn't lean towards the No or the Yes. On the other side, the Orioles rank 28th which would lean to the No because they are one of the worst 1st inning offenses in the league.

                                                Giants @ Cubs

Tim Lincecum is one of the best, if not THE best 1st inning pitcher in the MLB. Out of 16 games, he has allowed a run in only ONE game. So, I think it is fair to say that the Cubs will not be scoring a run against Lincecum and his 3rd ranked 1st inning defense. Dempster has provided four solid outings in his last 4 starts, and I don't see that changing with the Giants' poor 1st inning offense. Take the NO.

I don't have the statistics for the 10PM game, but I might be able to get them up. There are some pitchers that are not in my system yet because I haven't bet on them, and it just happens that I don't have either of these pitchers. But I will see what I can do for a good friend.

                                                          Nationals @ Angels

Jordan Zimmerman is an outstanding first inning pitcher, similar to Tim Lincecum. He has a whopping 0.13 RIF season average with a 0.15 YES/NO ratio, with only 2 Yes' and 13 No's. The Angels will not score on Zimmerman in the first inning with their horrendous first inning batting numbers. Although Dan Haren has given up a run in 4 of his last 5 first inning appearances, I do not see the Nationals' 26th ranked first inning offense scoring on him. Take the NO.
