I actually just created one. Thanks for mentioning it. I might as well have one for the plays to make it easier for anyone who wants to follow. It takes no time to send a tweet and makes it easier for all of you. I know goldengreek has a twitter which has helped a lot for people following his picks. The twitter name for my picks is BeastModePicks. I'll start tweeting out the plays and records tomorrow. If the name starts to get followers and I know people want the picks through twitter, I'll keep it going...if not, I'll probably scrap it. Here's my reasoning on the Cubs:
-Once again today, huge RLM in favor of the Cubs once again. 75-80% of the public money is on the Giants and the line has moved from -145 open to around -125 or -130. Once again, even more public perceived value in the hot Vogelsong and streaking Giants...bringing even more money in on the Giants. With the public % up to even over 80% at some places, this line should have moved to at least -150 or -155 in favor of the Giants.
-Cub's pitcher Doug Davis has gotten awful run support this year but has pitched fairly well, especially lately. Davis has been a home underdog twice this year. June 17 against the Yankees where he outpitched Freddy Garcia as a +152 dog and allowed only 1 ER to the Yanks on his way to a win. The only other time he was a home dog this year...May 14 against the GIANTS and VOGELSONG...That game, he pitched well, allowed 1ER over 5 innings. Thanks to the Cubs errors, he lost that game 3-0.
-Vogelsong has been unreal...lets be honest. He's 5-1 with a 1.86 ERA. 2-0 on the Road with a 3.21 ERA. And he owned the Cubs in May when he played them. I hate to say this, but he's due for a loss and I think today will be it.
-Cubs are coming off a big win yesterday over Chacin (PAPER!
) to start their homestand after a dreadful road trip...They want to get back on track and this is the time to do so.
-Giants are coming into this game off a 5-1 homestand and a 5 game winning streak...That's really good right? Well, it was against a Twins team who ended their 8 game winning streak (mainly due to their pitching which finally came back to Earth) in SF and have been AWFUL since the streak ended (15-0 loss last night, 25 hits allowed)...And against the Indians who haven't been able to find an identity since their early season success...When you look at it that way...it's not so impressive.
I'm feeling good about this play today boys...keep it small if you want. We've got a lot of games today.
