Im on Germany and Croatia, but it's not as safe as it should be... I watched Germanys last 2 games before Euro and it wasn't a champ team, but im going for the Germany -1.5 anyway.
As for Croatia, they should win and looks like the strongest pick, but Austria might get a big boost as a host and everything can happend in game 1 in a int. cup.

Angels: Santana got a great record and has owned the A's in his last start. He got a 8-1 record starting against the A's with a ERA of 1.27 and a WHIP of 0.930 in 69.6 IP lifetime. In his only start against them this year he got a shutout in 6.2 IP in a 6-1 win. Harden got a 5-3 record with a HARDEN is 5-3 when starting against the Angels with an ERA of 4.06 and a WHIP of 1.296 in 61.9 IP. Hardens last time up against the Angels in 06 he gave up 6 ER in 3.2 IP. The Angels are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and 4-0 L4 with Santana on the mound, so im looking for the sweep in this one.
Brewers U9.5: The two games in this series got a total of 10 and 9 runs but im looking for a 6-7 run total in this one.
Suppan have been great L3 starts with a 1.74 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP in 20.2 IP. Suppan got a 5-1 record against the Rockies with an ERA of 3.58 and a WHIP of 1.232 in 49.4 IP. In his last time up against the Rockies in 07 he gave up only 2 ER in 6 IP in a 4-3 win. Francis have been struggeling a bit in his L3 starts with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP in 18.0 IP. But in his last start against the Dodgers he got a shutout in 7 IP so he might be on his way back on track. Francis have been struggeling against the Brewers with a 2-2 record and a awfull ERA of 8.71 and a WHIP of 1.742 in 20.2 IP. But in his last time up in 07 he gave up only 3 runs in 5 IP in a 19-4 win.
The under is 4-0 in Barksdales last 4 games behind home plate and the Brewers under are 5-0 after a loss and when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game. Also the under is 6-0 in Suppans last 6 starts overall and 4-0 in Francis last 4 starts during game 3 of a series. I just can't see the Cubs getting sweept against the Dodgers...

Monday 9/6 Euro 08 picks

Italy/France

This is two games that are all open but I got a few reasons for my picks.
Italy: Italy are missing both Cannovaro and Nesta, but I can't see Holland as an offensive threat tomorrow with Babel and especially Robben out, while van Persie isn't on the top of his game after his recent injury. Italy is one of the favourits to win the cup and thats a reason for that. They gonna get a dream start with a win in against Holland.
My prediction: 2-0 Italy.
France: France is struggeling with some injuries and Henry and Vieira is out. I don't think they gonna miss Henry after his worst season in many years with little playing time in Barca, but it might be worse with Viera. The persone thats decite how it will go without Viera is Makelele and is it a player that can replace Viera so is it him. France isn't the only team missing a important player in this match. Romania are missing their strong and important midfielder Petre for this match so well see how they respond to that. I think that France is underrated right now cause they are a cup team. I don't think France gonna own this game, but they gonna deliver the goods. France havn't a single goal against in their L4 games.
My prediction: 1-0 France.

Against Romania, the French are 6-1-3 in all games, 2-1-0 in competitive games and 1-0-0 in Euro Championships.
France's concerns include injuries to Veira, Henry and Ribery. Veira and Henry can be adequately replaced but Ribery is the current "driver" for the French team. He'll be missed. I have my doubts about the French attacking potency. They haven't been clicking of recent. Plus, at the back, Thuram is fast losing his usual pace due to age. My fear is that if Romania gets a goal then France might just scrap a draw. The good news however is that Romania has won only one of their 10 European Championship matches. On the French part, only once have they failed to survive group stages at the Euro Championships. So, even with the injury concerns, France, along with Italy, will be favorites today.Comment -

Johnson vs Duke. Johnson have been good in his L3 games with a 2.79 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP in 19.1 innings. He got a great history against the Pirates with a 1.76 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP of 0.770 and a 8-3 record. Duke have had some problems in his L3 where he got a 4.08 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP 17.2 IP. Against the D'Backs he got a 6.55 ERA and a WHIP of 1.727 with a 0-1 record. The D'Backs have been struggeling at bat lately and have only a .207 avg with 3.78 R/9 against lefties L10 games. Meanwhile the Pirates have been great hitting .303 with 6.04 R/9 against lefties. The batting stats favour the Pirates, but I think it will turn around today cause of the starters (Johnsons great history against the Pirates and Dukes bad and their L3 stats). The D'Backs got a record of 14-11 in day games while the Pirates got a 9-10. Against lefties the D'Backs are 14-9 while the Pirates are 9-12. Also the Pirates are only Pirates are 2-10 in their last 12 games following a win. The D'Backs are 12-5 in the last 17 meetings and im looking for their got a good chance to make it 13-5 L18 today...

I think Volquez is good for a 7-8 inning game today and he knows how to shut down teams, like in this last time up with a shutout against the Phillies in 7 IP. Hendrickson got a horrible ERA in his L3 but might getting back on track now after giving up 10 ER @Phillies, but goes down to 4 ER in his last time up @Braves..

It looks like it, but its not over yet so I won't recorde them as wins yet. Might bring bad luck, but... Think I have too steal j$ avatar and line, cause both today with a 0-3 record and when things didn't look good yesterday i'v posted "Belive in the power of the Rally Monkey!!!" in the Notebook where I keeping records of all my picks for each day and then..!!
