One day left to bring this onto the positive side, or will be the worst season on record since 2004.

    Month to date 222-183 -4.48
    -175 or better 199-168 +1.49
    Home dogs 44-51 -0.89

In case anyone is wondering, I don't have a non-handicapping strategy for June.

Home dogs in June, while slightly positive since 2004, have had several losing years. Overall home dogs in June are 387-444 +24.07

More than the overall profit is accounted for in one season, 2005, when home dogs went 69-60 +24.70
2004 was also a good year. Starting at 2006, home dogs in June have gone 255-326 -19.03

So, I'll put up the final recap tomorrow, and be back next April for the +100 and better dogs.

      Good Luck,
      Bart

It's a shame that no other months have been as consistent as April and May. September has been decent for dogs although it had a particularly bad year in 09.

Before the season I was going to follow this strategy and take the "long term" approach and accept that I might have some bad months unless I decided to quit early on something, but you never know if things are going to turn around or not. I'll have to look into the actual days.

        strategy

        April: HD, AD
        May: HD, HF
        June: HD
        July: HF
        August: none
        September: HD, AD
        October: HD, AD

        results

        04: 5160
        05: 2205
        06: 5625
        07: 1925
        08: 8625
        09: 5990
        10: 8958

        average ~ 5500 per year

For September, I would focus on the home dogs.

Away dogs, while they had a good year last year, lost the 3 seasons prior to that.

Here's what I get for September away dogs

          2010 123-156 +13.95
          2009 99-160 -14.40
          2008 109-159 -7.75
          2007 104-158 -6.85
          2006 117-145 +17.00
          2005 116-144 +15.45
          2004 101-161 +8.45

          and for September home dogs

          2010 49-50 +11.78
          2009 58-80 -5.85
          2008 56-52 +16.25
          2007 68-71 +12.70
          2006 64-70 +11.90
          2005 56-73 -0.65
          2004 52-90 -12.20

And the final day is a bad one.

            Final tally for 2011

            May home teams 229-191 -7.48
            -175 or better 206-176 -1.51
            Home dogs 46-52 +0.86

So, doesn't wipe out the profits from the April +100 or better dogs, but it's the worst season on record since 2004.

April (+100 or better dogs) +31.99
            May (home teams) -7.48

            Total +24.51

            Good Luck,

Let's see if home teams in May can make back some of what April dogs lost.

Not positive, but a better start than the dogs.
