For anyone looking to add even a small filter, I would say that getting rid of lines above -175 is a decent place to start.

Through the end of 05/04/11

Games at -175 or better, 1500-1182 +151.18

Games at worse than -175, 216-99 +4.40

That's a lot of games to get 4 extra units and it's actually lost each of the last 3 years and is 3-3 -2.60 so far this year.

Yes, but those are season-to-date stats. I get slightly different numbers for the Favs / Dogs, but nothing that couldn't be accounted for by some small differences in lines.

Home teams before the start of May were 203-195, since May 1, 40-26

In April, in case you missed the other thread, the play is to take the dogs, not home teams.
In April, home teams lost over 37 units, dogs won over 30.

Home dogs, +100 or better, in May, would do well, but had a couple of losing years.

Overall, since 2004, through end of day yesterday, 433-464 +46.91 units.

In case you didn't see the other thread, betting dogs in April has almost always been profitable. It was good for about 32 units this year.

So far in May, dogs (+100 or better) are 49-52 +9.16

That's almost ALL home teams - they account for 8.54 of the 9.16 so far this month.
