forex mkts are super efficient, but skilled disciplined practitioners can and do exist...ditto sports-investing only moreso...

Less so, in sports betting there is large vig on every single bet you make. In forex the vig is the commission you are paying which pales in comparison to the 1.5-5% theoretical give on every mlb ml bet depending on which site you use

GG is the real deal among varied-stake/or flat-stake bettors...

how can you say this without knowing a z-score or standard deviation, come on you are clearly smarter than that. His record for the year could easily be within the 2nd standard deviation

I'm going to ask again because I think this is key: so you think that it's possible for someone to be BETTER at predicting games purely based on looking at some info and picking a side versus pinnacle's computers and a highly efficient market? someone that is betting almost every game to boot

Fitguy: I appreciate that you typed out your understanding of mkts and books... but seriously? Do you really apply these strategies to betting? If you do, I'm just curious, no disrespect, what is your winning percentage?

Your whole market theory revolves around the assumption that the odds are based on team's ability/stats/useless trivia, etc...

Baseball has proved to be incredibly lucrative... but everyone loses their bankroll because it's a completely different beast from NBA or NFL. It's not based on spreads, it's based on percentage of games overall. Next year I'm going to try hockey because I think the capping hockey is similar to MLB.

This is obviously just for this season and there are other factors to consider like units W/L that one would consider when evaluating W/L records, but regardless of how he picks games it wouldn't be considered "dumb" luck.

did you really go back through every pick to calculate that? and i don't see how you can come up with that without considering units(or maybe i'm misunderstanding you). do you mind just writing out your z-score calculation
