San Diego/Florida over 5 runs -115:
The 11-19 Padres have lost 8 of their last 10 games and sit at the cellar of the NL West sending Justin Germano (0-2 6.04) to the hill this evening. Germano has been tagged for 16 runs and 16 hits in 8 1-3 innings spanning his last two starts, including six runs and six hits in five innings on Saturday. The Padres, however bailed him out by winning 8-7 in 13 innings against Arizona. Over his last 3 starts he's 0-2 giving up 19 ER over his last 15 IP and the Pods are going to need to provide a lot of run support if they are to return to their winning ways. Perhaps Adrian Gonzalez, who is currently on an 11 game hitting streak on the road (.368) and leads the team with 6 HR and 21 RBI, can help with some much needed punch that they haven't gotten at pitcher friendly Petco. Meanwhile, 15-13 Florida is just a half game behind Philadelphia and tied with the Mets for second place in the NL East. They counter with Mark Hendrickson (4-1 3.68) who has been one of the rare pleasant surprises for the Marlins pitching staff. Florida has a couple of big bats, namely Hanley Ramirez (.322 8 19) and Mike Jacobs (.258 7 17) who are two of the reasons the Marlins have overacheived expectations during the young campaign. Best of luck however you play.
