I agree on the second part, but allowing Congress the hypocrisy themselves? Are you serious? Are you going to let judges, law enforcement agencies, etc., operate scot-free on such issues that have far more grave consequences and demand throwing the book at an athlete for lying about taking performance enhancing drugs? Really? Did you believe the tesitmony that Fehr and Selig gave about not knowing? Selig was reminded no less than four times that he was under oath during the testimony he gave in January 2007, and still lied.

If Clemens and Tejada and anyone else lied, then penalize them. But when you do, don't declare victory for anything. You could be next.

He lied to people that are used to lying and getting away with it, and by god they're not going to let anyone move in on their schtick. Nothing but a mindless twit would think Clemens going to jail was justice while Fehr and Selig get off from their part in the whole scheme. If you just don't like Clemens, think he's an asshole, and that's why you want him to get in trouble, that part I can understand. Think it's petty, but I understand it. But if you think this is somehow justice, you're one sad, sad individual.

Excellent point. Fehr and Selig are implicit in the deal but I suppose the central issue is lying to congress, etc. I agree that there are far more pressing things to deal with. Cheers

When MLB is ready to give up their anti trust exemption, then they can whine about congress having better things to do. The wars and deficit won't be won or lost on a vote in one day.

It's not like the prosecutor deciding to charge Clemens slows down a government where one side (Repubs) have stated months ago that their goal was to stall any legislation until after November.

Clemens would be foolish to go to trial. The Feds have a 95% conviction rate. They do not like to lose. They'll offer to settle and if Clemens refuses they will use all their resources to bury Clemens.

Roger, if you are reading this, fire your attorneys and throw yourself on the mercy of the court.
