I like the Rangers today. Usually the Yanks are favored home or away, the books know something.

Not always. They're sometimes dogs at Rays and Red Sox.

The OVER looks good. I believe Lee will give up at least 4 runs to the Yankee fastball hitters and Vazquez always surrenders runs. The Rangers bullpen had to work last night so if Lee gets chased by the 7th, the OVER looks solid.

Yankee hitters are one of the best in baseball verses lefties.

The Rangers have not given Cliff Lee much run support so far.

As an aside, I loved, loved, LOVED seeing Mariano getting lit up last night. If the Rangers play the Yanks in the playoff, I hope they remember last night's game.

It's true the Yankees are rarely an underdog, being posted only twice in the role since early April, a 5-4 win at Tampa Bay on 7/31, and last night's 3-4 loss at Texas. For the year, they stand 4-1 +3.70 units as underdog. But every game must by analyzed on its own merits. This one clearly favors the Rangers and Lee, though the inflated price tag of -1.70 (up from the opener of -1.54) may put this into the "no play" range. Nonetheless, the facts are that NY is on a 3-6 run and send #5 starter Vazquez to the hill, who allowed 6 runs in 5 1/3 IP of his previous start to send his bloated ERA to 5.32 in last 4 starts. Lee has gone 8+IP in 10 consecutive starts, has a 126/9 KBB ratio for the year, and a 2.63 ERA in 6 starts with Texas. Of equal importance is having the confidence of beating the Yankees the last 3 times he has faced them. Tough call at current price.

                      Vázquez vs. Lee

                      That's why.
