I know all about the ESPN Sunday Night home team streak, but
I get Carp at -125 against Dumpy with StL looking to avoid a sweep?

At a quick first glance for Sunday, I also like:
    SD -155
    SF -155
    BAL +105
    HOU +105
    CHW +125
    SEA +135

You think? I don't know -- every yuppie Cub fan in the world is going to be backing them on a Sunday night at Wrigley, going for the kill vs. their arch-rival.

guess that could be true, to me i think its a no-brainer which worries me when it feels that easy....honestly think it being late is very good for us as at least we get out of the sun that has obviously been effecting our vision at the plate

Carp's owned the Cubs recently (won the last 4 vs. CHC he's started), he's great at night, good on the road, and Dumpy's struggled vs. StL (lost the last 4 vs. Cards that he's started).

I'm fighting my way back from that Reds pick, but still not at my goal for my starting football balance.

Once (if) I get there, I'm taking time off to get ready for the fall. Baseball's a fvcking grind.

Arrieta's still flying under the radar, and Slowey is Slowey.

With that being said, Arrieta has really struggled at home for some reason. Might be a FF play at best, or off the board altogether by tomorrow until he has a quality home start.

BOL, buddy. Gambling's just recreational money for me. I don't bet with high stakes, which sucks on the nights I win big (like tonight). When I lose, though, I'm thankful it's just a hobby for action more than anything else. I know more about MLB than NBA and NFL, but it seems like football and basketball are easier. Probably because I'm not making nearly as many bets and doing more research on games. There is no "down time" in MLB unless you have the discipline to take some time off (which I don't).

Lots will chase on that game.

All the Over bettors who lost the past few days will finally take the Under, and get burned also.

Do you think more will be on StL or CHC?

Not sure about the over -- depends on what they set it at. I'm never crazy about taking overs with ace pitchers, because you never know when they're going to fire an absolute gem. Plus, as of right now, the forecast is for cooler temps and an E/NE wind at Wrigley (blowing in).

Cards get it done. Carpenter is truly a master at his craft and public or not count me in. With Carpenter it is not strictly talent. I haven't seen many pitchers that thinks his way through at bats and lineups the way he does. Guy really is a master and when he is executing pitches it is unfair.

I think Vegas is definitely suckering Twins and Reds fans into thinking they're getting a bargain. SF is just plain better than ARI, even though I like that Enright kid. And you know how I feel about your Cards.

Other than that, I don't see much to get excited about. I think I'll take the White Sox because their SP is going to be a good one and I hate Dallas Braden, but that line seems to be luring me in. Why is Braden -145?

Think about it this way: who's carrying the Cubs right now? The young bucks. Colvin and Castro have been on fire in this series. Do you think Carp lets those two get the better of him in such an important game for StL?

Nobody understands the game within the game better than this guy. Mentally he is as sharp as they come. He understands his role and while Wainright has come to the forefront over the last couple yrs as the "man".. Make no mistake this is the guy the Cards want on the mound tommorow and Carpenter knows this and will relish the challenge and opportunity. I am sure he is proud of Wainright and he has tutored him and Wainright it so similar, but make no mistake down deep Carpenter is always proving himself. Carpenter understands the importance of gaining positive momentum back during this slight rut. I expect a stellar performance out of him tommorow.

Soup and Hawksworth. Carp will be a whole different beast tomorrow night. I'd be STUNNED if he didn't bring his A-game. Opportunities to get him at -125 against an inferior team don't come around very often. I'm going with it. If it loses, it loses.

If I need to win a big game tommorow I pick Carpenter. It's just know how and guts to another level.. Not saying Waino doesn't qualify, but it's just different.
