I think this hurts the Jays short term but improves them long term.

From what I understand, the two players the Braves received in the trade have huge upside, where the Braves see them more valuable than Escobar AND they get Gonzalez.

I think that Gonzo may have an attitude problem, that may be why he's played for so many different teams (Red Sox twice) as a Boston fan I would still rather him over Scutaro.

As a braves fan Im not so sure about this trade. I think we may have just traded a future superstar. This has been an off year for escobar. I just dont like seeing us trade away young talent. (i.e. Francoeur) It would have been nice to see what Heyward, Escobar, and some of the other young talent we have could have done together after Chipper is gone.

Bet on that.
I will bet you that atleast one of the teams leading a division as of today will make the playoffs in the NL whether it be by winning their division or winning the wildcard. Put your points where your mouth is.

What the fukk? You didn't like seeing us trade Frenchy??? The guy's a god damn joke on the field, he'll swing at anything within teen feet of him.
That being said, I do like him as a person, no homo.

Right now Braves have best rotation in division. Hudson is far from inexperienced. Like all sports, injuries will be a factor in the 2h.

no division leader wins the division. How many you wanna put on that?
And I forgot about Hudson. But he is coming off of an injury. Wagner is coming off an injury. Glaus is coming off of an injury-ridden life.
Phils just swept the Reds in 4. Will come real close to sweeping the Cubs in Wrigley this weekend. They are 4.5 games back with the most important players going down to injury in the National League.
They have the best team in NL East, still. The Braves are good and Young and have some talent. But this just aint the year. ANd that deal for Alex is NOT a good one. You dont trade a lifetime .300 bat (27 year old) for a bum who had a hot/unexpected first half.
Turner Field smashes his power, too.
Anyone who thinks this is a good deal for the Braves is retarded at best.
Phils, Cards, Rockies, Dodgers will be in the Playoffs in 2010.

Not when Happ gets back and is healthy. Grandpa Moyer has been very good, and Halladay and Hamels alone make a better staff than in ATl. Jurrjens, Hudson, Hanson are good. but not great. Not yet.

The Phils have the same record at 81 games that they had in each of the last two seasons. I said this already, sure, but I dont feel like you were listening.
They look to become the first team since the 42-44 Cards to win three straight pennants. It's happening. Get ready for it.

Hamels is a .500 pitcher so far this year. IMO Halladay hasn't been on the top of his game this season. He's been pitching up to his standards but I don't think he's the Cy Young winner the Phillies thought they were getting when they acquired him. Do you really expect the Phillies to use Moyer in the playoffs? He's almost 50 and will be lucky to finish the season. Happ isn't going to bounce back and be a great pitcher he never has been a great pitcher. He's been good at best.
Bottom line is I think the Braves at this point in the season have a better team. The Phillies have been hampered by injuries and who knows if that will end. They have to make a trade to improve their rotation in order to compete with the Braves for the division.
I'll bet on that.

Haha very nice. Grandpap Moyer wasn't "very good" in his outing against the Braves in that series. 7 ER in 7 innings? Now thats very good!

Gonzalez has been playing out of his shoes this year. Until this spurt he's been a formitable 80-100 game a year SS who will hit about 250.
