                Well whether you liked or disliked George, he definitely had a huge impact on baseball. The era of big money baseball may not have started with him, but he certainly did his part. His school of thought seemed to be that whatever the problem you just throw more money at it. My condolences to the Yankee family.

                    tribute??? he singly handedly ruined the game of baseball with his constant over paying of players in order to sign everyone that is good.......spent $1.8 BILLION on free agents??? terrible...thus is why it will be extra funny in october when these tools from New York run home early from The Show

                                                  George was not good for the game of baseball. He is singlehandedly responsible for the out of control outrageous salaries being paid today. When an average baseball player makes 10 times as much money as the President of the US, there is something very wrong.
