HR Derby needs to go away for awhile, but never will because even with the poor field it will get good ratings. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to take part.

I think I'll take a shot with Holliday. Whats the O/U of the most hit in a round?

They should change it up some so it would be easier on them.

swisher might have the best swing for this, and he's a lefty which helps...

If they really want to make the HR derby exciting again, they need to recreate the old HR Derby
1. Move it to the off season
2. top 8 or 16 reg season HR leaders are invited
3. Once every 2 weeks have a round
4. seeding is by reg season home runs 1vs 16 2 vs 15...etc single elimination
5. 9 inning game - 1 out per inning.
6. Same pitcher throws to both batters for 3 inn each.
7. winner gets sponsorship $$$ donated to their fave charity.
Derby gets its own 1/2 hr show on the MLB network or ESPN

LOLOLOLOL, do you live in a box??? the comments in this thread are all so stupid.
HANLEY is only the best SS in baseball, jeter doesn't come close to his power, but does have a more consistent glove and Cabrera is only gonna win the triple crown this year, thus he blows too......

Seriously, off of a team that includes Braun and Fielder, how is Hart in the Home Run Derby? And off of a team that includes Rodriguez and Texeira, how is Swisher in the Derby? The players who should be in it all bow out because they're afraid it will hurt their performance in the second half, either because it affects their swing or it induces fatigue. We might as well do away with the Derby all together. We can bring it back when they bring baseball back to the Olympics. We're looking at two symptoms of the same disease.
