NL------Dodgers, Padres, Rockies, Cards (as usual), Nationals (if they get "HOT?!?")

I didn't say they all had to come from differfent divisions, now, did I????

Interleague Rolls On...

Is it just me, or do more of these interleague games seem to go "OVER" the established line? Since I take the "OVER" in most games 95% of the time (due to the shoddy 'bullpen-help' I'm always berating), I don't really mind---but it does beg the question, "WHY?"

Opinions, anyone?!?

Last Weekend for Interleague, folks!

I love predictability as much as the next guy.....but part of the INTERLEAGUE appeal for me is rooted-in the "unpredictability" and because a lot of these guys don't face each other hardly ever, that unpredictability is subsequently rooted-in "no fear" (or pertinent scouting reports, thereof) of the opposition.

And how 'bout Br. Boesch (spelling?) for the Tigers-----I heard a stat tonight that's just UNBELIEVABLE:

As a rookie (this year, of course) he's 20 of 41 against lefthanders.......and he's faced DOMINANT lefthanders; the radio crew was joking tonight about how opposing managers will probably start bringing-in righthanded bullpen help to face him in the future------------and in case you haven't guessed what the mystique / hoopla's about:



He's a LEFTHANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out-of-the-loop, today.........appeciate any opinions on what happened in MLB, tonight, especially another NO-NO by Edwin Jackson of Arizona.........he used to be a Tiger, ya' know, after his rookie year in T. Bay where he got scuffed-up on several occasions---------

Everybody, you heard it here, first: ol' J.J. will win the National League Cy Young--------great as he is (coming-in to his own, and all), he'd have 2-4 more wins if it weren't for the acclaimed "bullpen-help" that I so love to berate!

In short, the guy just doesn't give up more than one-two runs a game; his only "scuffage" came in the first game of the year when ALL PITCHERS were scraping off the Spring Training rust, getting their feet wet.

Watch, folks, you'll see.........................

Betting on Teams To Win vs. -1 & 1/2 Runs

Theory (Mine): Despite the pitchers (with the exceptions of CHARLIE MORTON (PIT), NATE ROBERTSON (FLA), and BRIAN MOEHLER (HOU)---ummmmm...a couple of others, too), I hereby postulate that it's easier for a team , especially an "AWAY" team to win than it is for a "HOME" team to win by two or more runs............

Is it just me, or is there, perhaps, Logic to this.........?????????????............

Folks, as much as I enjoy pecking away at my own "BLOG," I must ask about whether my posts are really all that boring? I mean, hardly anybody ever responds to anything I have to say-----and I really don't think that I'm all that shallow, hollow, or boring..........but that assumption is made through my own prism.

"Home Field" Advantage

Call it just a personal opinion, but I don't wholly subscribe to the "Home Field" advantage theory, although, there does seem to be much more of a distinct advantage in basketball, somewhat in football----moreso than in hockey or baseball.

That said, how is it the Tigers are 26-11 @ home and Atlanta 29-9 @ home, best in the American and National Leagues respectively?

I dunno.........anyone have theories for these minor exceptions, or am I just wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy off-base, here?

Well, above the fact that Shin-ACHOO-ACHOO! is on the DL, and the Tigers CLEARLY have superior talent-----------after tonight's sluggish performence (after 4 days off) rest assured, Leyland will rip-em-all after the game behind closed doors...one of his high-standing pet-peeves is LAZINESS (circa Pittsburgh Pirate days with a very Primadonna face known as Barry Bonds).
