Lb giants and atl line isn't out yet.. But as soon as it's there and the o/u is 5 or more we should hammer the under right??

I had them -1rl (6x) first game. Considering the same play. Works out to -1rl (-138). I like the security of a push when i put more than 2x down.

Yea I think the same thing. I think the odds for Oswalt being almost equal to Halladay's shows something too. Why would the books be offering such a big +payout on the Reds if they thought the Reds had a good shot at winning? Especially when Oswalt is 0-2 vs the Reds with 6.75 era

Maybe they are looking for another solid effort by an ace pitcher? In this case, I'd say Phils RL or UNDER 7 are two plays to take a look at

If I'm not mistaken, Oswalt only faced them once this summer as a Phil and it was when the Phils were plagued with injuries, the other time was with the Astros. But in the 2nd half of the season, Oswalt has been the real gem in the rotation, and actually their hottest pitcher. He has NEVER lost at Citizens Bank Park in his career.

And before anyone makes a cause for Arroyo, check out how many Phillies are hitting over .300 against the guy, it isn't pretty. 1-5 against the Phils with an era over 5.8.

I don't know man. Sounds too easy but since Oswalt join the Phillies, his numbers started to get better.

After Roy Halladay’s phenomenal no-hitter in Game 1, the Phillies have now defeated the Reds five straight times (all five wins were at Citizens Bank Park) and they’re 15-5 in the last 20 meetings, including 11-2 in the last 13 clashes in Philadelphia (seven wins in a row). And while Cincinnati is playing sub-.500 baseball since Sept. 5 (12-16 overall; 4-11 on the road), Philadelphia is on a sick 50-19 roll, winning 28 of its last 36 and 13 of 17 at home.

What about the pitching matchup? Well, two days after getting dominated by Halladay, the Reds’ offense gets to face Roy Oswalt. The former Astros hurler went 7-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 13 appearances (12 starts) with the Phillies; he was 5-0 with a 1.76 ERA in six home starts (all Philly victories); he allowed just two runs (one earned) in his final four starts covering 27 innings; and he’s 23-3 with a 2.81 ERA in his career against Cincinnati.

The Reds’ Bronson Arroyo quietly enjoyed a solid season, going 17-10 with a 3.88 ERA, but he’s 1-5 with a 5.54 ERA in his career against the Phillies. In his two most recent starts against Philadelphia (both in 2008), Arroyo gave up five runs in each contest while allowing a collective 19 hits and seven home runs in exactly 10 innings.

Seems like it's too good to be true, especially after Cain looked awful in his season finale... Well guess what? It is too good to be true! There's a reason Hanson has more wins than losses, despite an ERA below 3.50, and that's the Braves inconsistent offense.

More of the same problems tonight, as one of the most consistent pitchers in the game, Matt Cain (13-11, 3.14 ERA), will bounce back strong here. Cain notched an NL-leading 25 quality starts, and if you take away that last loss to the Padres, he went 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his L7 starts. He's also been rock-solid at AT&T Park this season, going 8-4 with a 2.93 ERA. Braves will have their hands full once again tonight.

The last piece of the puzzle is each team's respective bullpens. The Giants clearly get the edge, posting a 0.42 ERA over their L21 1/3 innings. On the flip side, the usually solid Braves pen, has been struggling of late, posting a 5.94 ERA over their L16 2/3 innings. Both teams saw excellent pitching in Game 1, and that'll continue to be the case, as the Giants eek out another close win tonight. San Francisco (Cain) over Atlanta (Hanson) Frida"

Last night's game ended up with the Braves getting just 2 hits and striking out 14 times against Giants hurler Tim Lincecum. That makes it 7 of the last 9 games for Atlanta having played under the posted total.

Braves starter Tommy Hanson has been lights-out down the stretch with a 0.48 ERA over his last 3 starts.

San Francisco will counter with Matt Cain whose season ERA stands at 3.14, so it does not seem likely to me that Atlanta's offensive woes are going to be halted this evening.

"The Giants are on a 13-3 under clip their last 16 games, and have played low in 17 of their last 21 following a win.

No sense in trying to overthink this free play.

Just go under.
