I'll take the Phillies tonight with a huge edge on the mound after a huge win Saturday in which they scored 4 runs in the 9th to win 4-1. That victory avoided a third straight loss to the Cubs to open this series, and now I fully expect the Phillies to even it up at 2-2 Sunday. Roy Halladay is 10-7 with a 2.19 ERA and 1.054 WHIP in 19 starts this year. Halladay has 128 strikeouts compared to 19 walks in 148 innings this season. Tom Gorzellany has pitched as well as the Cubs could expect, but the lefty is only 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA in six home starts in 2010.

The Phillies also love playing on Sunday's, going 43-16 in their last 59 Sunday games. Philly is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a favorite. The Phillies are 4-0 in their last 4 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. The Cubs are 1-6 in Gorzellany's last 7 home starts. Chicago is 20-42 in their last 62 games as a home underdog. But perhaps the most telling trend of them all is the fact that the Cubs are only 4-20 in their last 24 games as a home underdog of +151 to +200. The Phillies have won 9 of their last 13 meetings with Chicago overall, and are 6-2 in their last 8 games at Wrigley Field. Roll with Philadelphia Sunday night.
