I'd expect Gore to make a full recovery this off-season. And I kind of like Alex Smith in the QB spot hes just always been thrown into bad situations. I think your better of Alex then you are with Troy. If you look at the Chiefs and how well they used there 2 headed running attack this year with Thomas and Charles. I think Gore and Westbrook should share the carries to keep Gore fresh for later in the season since the 49ers do run the ball a lot. I don't know I'm just thinking out loud right now. I think the 49ers will be in playoff contention next year.

Contracts are up? Well I'd say keep Alex Smith because I don't think hes a complete bust and Westbrook hold help carry the load and keep Gore fresh for later on in the season.
