Way too much explosiveness on Oregon's part and far too much inconsistency on UCLA's part in my opinion. Oregon TT over seems solid though for a prime time spotlight game, coming off a bye week for Oregon... BOL to you Paco.

For the sake of honesty, I will say that I initially leaned ORE in this game...BUT:

Just checked some numbers....ORE hasn't covered 24 in any of their last 3 games (all vs "real" opponents aka not Portland State). I'm not a believer in the "transitive" property, but both teams have played Wash St, with UCLA winning 42-28 and Oregon winning 43-23. Eerily similar scores there. The Quacks had a quality win in Stanford, but UCLA got their own with a very impressive and dominating win AT Texas (sure they were aided by turnovers, but it really wasn't even close). You saw what TEX did to NEB last week...

Additionally, the Bruins carry a somewhat significantly stronger schedule (avg opp Sagarin: UCLA = 76.1, Ore = 70.6). The victories on both sides have come with significant turnover help, with ORE needing 7 given to them (and 2 non-O TDs) to squeak past AzSt by 11. On a similar note, UCLA was given 5 by Texas. Speaking of turnovers, both teams are pretty good in that department, with ORE giving up 8 over the last 3, and UCLA 6 in the same stretch.

I really do think that ORE is looking for style points to trick the computers into the BCS Champ game, but on the other end you have a UCLA team looking to make a statement after an embarrassing loss last week. Is ORE the better team? Yes, yes, and yes. But there is a whole lot of value to be had in a dangerously competitive team like the Bruins. They WILL prove last week wrong and show up for this huge game.
