I've hit against Tim Lincecum personally. Believe me the ball gets on you way faster than the average 91 MPH fastball. He hides the ball really well and his rubber arm whips thru so quickly that it's hard to pick up before it comes out of his hand. Another factor is that he has such a late break on his curveball, and it's a very sharp break. So basically when he throws an offspeed, it seems and looks just like a fastball until you start swinging and then it cuts something fierce on you. In order to not look like a fool up there, you have to wait longer on his pitches and that's why you see so many batters late on his 91 MPH fastball
