Of course, Marshall hadn't given up a run in August -- until today.

MT, i LOVE betting on cahill, but bro, aren't you always complaining about the lack of oakland offense and now you're basing a selection on "if the a's can score 4-5 runs"??? 4-5 runs for oakland is a real stretch! sometimes they go entire series without scoring 5 runs. i'd bet against oakland 100% of the time if you told me they had to score 5 runs to win.
i like cahill, but unless you're telling me that he's gonna limit the rays to 2 runs or less, then i don't see any basis for taking oakland against a team as capable of scoring as tampa.

10 times this month the a's haven't scored 4 runs. they are a great under play, especially when cahill and gio are pitching. that 3 run ninth yesterday blew it though.

the a's are hitting right now and yes cahill can shut that team out or hold them to 1 run..no doubt in my mind...the rays are very capable of being shut down offensively

i went 35 years without a baseball team in my hometown. every year, i would listen to Cubs fans (and Red Sox fans, until '04) b*tch and moan about how bad their teams were and I would always reply with the same thing -- "STFU, at least you HAVE a team."
now that i have the Nationals to root for -- even though they are a last place team -- i can honestly say that as i look back on those 35 years, i consider myself lucky to have grown up with NO team, rather than have grown up a Cubs fan.

gl mt. but the rays have won 74 games this year. tops in the league b4 yanks victory today. and people bet against their o because they've been no hit a few times. but like i said yesterday, these boys know how to win. they put up 6 against lee last week and he's pretty good. still like the under though.

I have been emotionally done with my cubs for a minute now since the debacle sweep by the dodgers. I walked away emotionally and it was the best thing I ever did. Im giving it one more off season because I have been waiting for the chicago tribune to sell the cubs my whole life. Im going to see what manager we get and how much cash this guy spends this off season. If he starts steinbernering some shit Im in.....if its the same old shit im officially a south side man in black next season.

thats fine but the rays wont win every game the rest of the year pal and i feel this is a good spot for them to lose...u have your pick i have mine...im putting 3x on it so obviously i feel good about it..we will see soon enough.it takes a very special pitcher to have an era under 3 in the AL and cahill is 2nd best at 2.50 behind a strikeout pitcher in bucholz...u cant fake that shit..good luck to you

That was a day game on Sunday, OAK specialty. The time before that (albeit almost too long ago to be relevant) Sonnenstine went 6 strong giving up 2 in a 3-2 win. Like I said, I'm on OAK in this one but I like the under too.

Franchise makes money off yuppie losers filling Wrigley win or lose.
Until there is a cause for concern $$$ wise, the Cubs will never put a priority on actually winning.
