Pardon my ignorance.

But how does line movement affect the result of the game? As long as the game is not fixed, shouldn't the better team win?

I mean, as a newbie (to betting and baseball), I think you bet your money on the better team if odds are good enough. Line moves according to how people bet. But how does that affect the result?

instint told me to bet the reds, but you think the cubs can't lose every home game. damn. and the phils are again most balanced team in nl when everyone is healthy. but cincy will prove to be a tough out because they are young and scrappy, like the old marlins....sfg and atl bats aren't consistent enough to get runs against premium pitching come playoff time.
