9 outs to work with. People were laughing at the Mets yesterday. Toronto today is not much better.

The Jays need to make Santana work a little bit. He's thrown 67 pitches through 6.2 innings. Not going to win if you don't make him work.

excellent observation. It seems as though the Jays are just going thru the motions on the offensive side.

WOW only took you until the 8th and 5th innings to post this.
Over 1600 posts here and you still have the nerve to do something like this.... I'd bet you don't post here and now if Rangers and Jays were up.
What a joke.

I couldn't bring myself to play the Rangers today. They are "due" yes but no play.

Toronto has lost 4 of the last 6 or 3 of the last 4 as far as the Jays falling apart.

Maybe they've lost those games, but they're playing teams that are much more skilled. Tallet and Morrow are God awful, and Marcum just went up against Weaver, not an easy matchup. The Jays have only 2 pitchers I'm willing to bet on, and one of them just went 8 innings giving up only 1 run, and sadly got zero run support. I really think Romero could win 20 if he wasn't on this horse turd Jays club

Blue Jays will come down to earth, if you did not relaize, yet. They are the Giants of LAST YEAR. You should the Angels will NOT be under .500 for LONG....
How can you pick against the HOTTEST TEAM IN BASEBALL, THE YANKEES, with a pitcher in the 40s that is surging up?
Dont hate, I do like TennisBabe's plays, but I would not play those in these situations as the season progresses...If anything, Angels and the Yankees are the better play

It's also not going to help the Jays when in the top of the 8th, the first two hitters have 2-0 counts and hit into outs. That's just not good batting.

Randy Ruiz pinch hitting. Batting .167
Come on. Just throw the bat boy in there. And Snider batting .111 so far this year? He needs to step it up.

No question Romero did his part. Pretty lame he won't get credited with the 'w' here because of no run support.

please dont discuss this during the play who's better or not... Its the pressure you want to release when the team you beted on is loosing if they would be winning eerithing would be ok and every1 would live happily ever after... cheers m8

The Yankees perhaps, but Irvin Santana vs Romero, I would take Romero every single time. And the plays are here for you to look at, tail or fade. Don't come here when Texas is down in the 6th acting like you're some genius for going the other way.

Mik, I just hope he doesn't get tired of playing on this poor team. He was good last year, and teams are starting to notice him. Rogers, the company that owns the Jays, needs to pile some money into this team. They're so rich and yet they field this team of 3-5 really good players (Hill, Lind, Romero, Marcum, and Wells when hes good) and expect us not to notice the 20 AAA jobbers on the rest of the squad.

mp, the angels have scored 1 run through 8 innings. So either the Angels can't hit the ball to save their lives, or the Jays are doing something right. I'm looking forward to the next time TOR plays LAA with Romero on the mound. Irvin will get lit up like a jackolantern while Romero shuts LA out for the second time. I doubt you'll say anything then

I think you would get props here if you post this before the game starts. I agree it would be tough to bet against the Yankees right now as they are off to a hot start with Tex hitting absolutely nothing on the year.

He really hasn't shown the type of pop a first basemen needs to have. The Jays have always been known for having a big stick at first base (Fred McGriff, Carlos Delgado, John Olerud) now we have Overbay who goes through 30 game slumps, hits good for 5 games and then slumps hard again. I really despise Jays ownership for how little they care about putting a good product on the field.
It's the same with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The ownership group knows every game is sold out before the first puck of the season drops no matter what, so they field a team that finishes 8th place at best for the least amount they can pay. It's sick
