Money management enhancement: there's an optional rule of 2/6 money management I'm going to try out. That rule says that when you start a new series at 1 unit, like we are today, that you can make 2 bets, one for 1u and one for 2u. If you win both, you start over tomorrow at 1u (and could do 2 bets again). If you win one of the two, then tomorrow you make one bet at 4u and follow the system as normal until you win one more bet and cycle back to 1u. If you lose both, you make one bet tomorrow at 4u and follow the system as normal until you've won 2 bets, then cycle back to 1u.

As thread readers know, I changed the system somewhat at the end of the first 2 weeks of the regular season. I thought my results from the first 2 weeks recast as if I were using the rules I'm using now were decent:

Game total: 6-5-3
2/6 Series (chases) complete: 3-0
Units won: 11.2
Longest series: 4 games
Largest single game risk: 77.50 to win 60

Note that the last game of the 14 days was a 1u loss, and since I started over from zero after the first 2 weeks, I never recovered that. Net net, 11.2 units in 14 days. Nothing to complain about there. Of course, since I started doing this for real, things are a little bumpier, tho still profitable.

Oh, and one more thing... I finally figured out that sbrodds was giving me different opening odds depending upon whether I was logged in or not... must have something to do with the order of the books. So now I use covers and I hope things will smooth out a bit.

My first 2 weeks were great, the last 2 weeks, not so much. What changed? I can think of 2 things:

1) Money Management... but I ran the 2/6 system back to the beginning and it looked fine... great in fact. I'm not inclined to change that.

2) The games I pick. At first I was picking favorites, but favorites who were generally better than -200 and where the RL was better than even money. Starting week 3, I began picking the biggest fave at whatever ridiculous juice and also laying odds on the RL and the record is only slightly different (6-6-2 -8 units now v. 6-5-3 +11 units first 2 weeks using 2/6), I'm in the hole. I think it's the juice that's killing me, plus the fact that the oddsmakers are assigning huge juice to home teams with losing records. Time for a change here.
