San Francisco Giants Preview
Win Total (5dimes)
Over 82 -110
Under 82 -110
The Giants won 88 games last year and it looks like they've gotten better this off season. They added M.Derosa and A.Huff to their offense and still have 2 of the best Starters in Lincecum and Cain.
Whats to like: They finally have an offense. Not since Kevin Mitchell was making bare-handed catches and that bald fukking JJ look alike Matt Williams and Will Clark have the Giants been so ready to put up runs. It's looking like E.Renteria is going to bat eighth, say what you want, any lineup with Renteria batting 8th is going to produce. Newcomers Huff and Derosa are huge upgrades from that confused fukk Fred Lewis and T.Ishikawa. You probably dont even know they're right fielder N.Schierholtz, but you will soon enough. He'll hit around .290 and play solid D all without wearing batting gloves. Bengie Molina is on the way out but you cant complain with a catcher that'll hit 20 HR's and has been around long enough to know the hitters in the NL. A.Rowand and F.Sanchez(most likely begin the year on 15 day DL) are gamers, they both can hit and do what needs to be done to win games. E. Velez will be around to fill in if anyone gets hurt, he got a bunch of playing time the last 2 years and is ready if needed. All of these positives and I didnt even mention their best Hitter, Pablo Sandoval, thats a nice lineup people.
How can you not like Lincecum and Cain as your 1-2 Starters. Bumgarner should turn heads as the 5th starter and Sanchez (threw No-Hitter last year) can be a very good pitcher if he puts it all together this year.
J. Affeldt was unhittable for the Giants out of the bullpen last year..
Whats Not to Like:If Barry Zito was a poster he'd be Nicky Santoro, fukking guy gets paid too much and barely produces. The good thing about Zito (much like Nicky) is that the Giants have given him enough chances and will send him to pen in a minute if he screws up. I know Zito did OK at times last year but he still wasnt worth what they paid him. I think Zito will struggle bigtime this year and I dont see him ending the year in the rotation. Imagine if they never signed this fukk, they could have signed a real superstar and been favorites to win it all.
The Giants age bothers me a little as well. Derosa, Huff, Molina, Renteria, Rowand, and Sanchez are all injury prone thanks to father time. Schierholtz and Sandoval are the only youngsters and Pablo is a couple cheeseburgers from brentcrude status. I do like the Giants depth though since they have been playing alot of the younger guys the last couple years.
Dont like these guys bullpen. Besides Affeldt, these guys are not very good. I look at Brian Wilson and I think of poster Iwinyourmoney. Tatoos and Overrated.. They should be able to tweek this a little so I dont see this as a major hurdle.
Recap:you have to put some cash on the Over 82 Wins here. I understand they have some good teams in their division but this team is ready to make a run. They will spend money if they have to. Which is the most important thing in baseball now a days. This team should contend for a playoff spot and with Lincecum and Cain, you never know, They might just win it all!! Its worth it.
