i'm suprised Oakland made this trade. but, with the way Billy Bean has had success with this team. i'm not gonna question it at all.
Bradley traded to Oakland for top prospect
Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics announced Tuesday that they have acquired outfielder Milton Bradley and infielder Antonio Perez from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for outfield prospect Andre Ethier.
The much-maligned Bradley suffered through an injury-plagued 2005, hitting .290 with 13 homers and 38 runs batted in.
In 2004, the Dodgers took a chance on the outfielder, who had shown the potential to be a five-tool player. However, his two-year stint in LA was mired by clubhouse problems and arguments between the 27-year-old Bradley and management.
He showed greater promise in 2003 with Cleveland, clubbing 10 home runs and hitting a career-high .321 with 56 RBI and 17 stolen bases.
Bradley, who is recovering from knee surgery, is a .269 career hitter with 54 home runs, 233 runs batted in and 54 stolen bases while also playing with Montreal.
Perez, a 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, hit a team-leading .297 in 98 games for the Dodgers last season. He also had three homers, 23 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
He showed pop in his bat during his 2004 season with Triple-A Las Vegas, hitting 22 home runs in 125 games.
Ethier was named the 2005 Texas League Player of the Year after he hit .319 with 18 home runs and 80 runs batted in with Double-A Midland. He followed that with a sizzling Arizona Fall League, with a .366 batting average, 21 runs batted in and a league-leading .495 on-base percentage.
