At the time, you believed they would not make the playoffs because as you have said many times before, any team making the playoffs has a chance to win it all. Nevertheless, I know you are in my corner for both the Reds and the Twins.

The Reds are playing horribly, the bullpen is nowhere, hitting has stopped and Dusty is having ogita.

Perhaps that is contrarian to win it all.

The Reds will certainly have to regain some of their mo-jo if they're going to do any business in the post season, 5's.

Even though Dusty rested both Rolen and Brandon Phillips in today's day game after a night game (didn't even use either to PH) - getting shut down at home by a guy who was 0-7 with a 6.53 in his previous 11 starts has to be a concern. I thought they would light him up - produced some Ogita (agita?) for me as well.

(I'm not Italian - but I think it comes from "agitare" - to agitate or upset. Agita - no?)

It looks like the season has played itself out to its current condition. The Contrarian is awaiting the grading of the season futures/props with both the Twins and Reds in postion to cash. To reiterate, the Twins and Reds are laddered in the post season with the Over Reds 79.5. To my surprise, 5Dimes already graded the Over Reds 79.5. To my knowledge, they usually grade at the conclusion of the season. Nevertheless, I am not complaining.

All in all, the season stats are what they are. The futures/props cash will reel this one in a bit

Tough loss last night, 5's. The Reds are sure limping in - but they'll get there.

I like them to win today with young Travis Wood facing Garland and Joey Votto probably back in the lineup. The Reds have really missed Votto's bat the last couple of games - but he was used to pinch hit last night and hopefully will be in there today.

Congrats on Twins as well. They are not going to be an easy draw for either the Yanks or Rays - esp if they pull off the home field edge. No question that Joe G or Joe M would rather face Texas than Gardenhire's bunch.
