Nope, not unless you call "picking winners" a system. Thats all I really try to do is go with the team that I feel has the best chances of winning. Of course I have many things that I look at before deciding on my picks. TA knows me best here, that I am still new and still learning from all of you cappers, and I am only hoping to gain more knowledge so that 70+% picks is not impossible Tip from me..... If I feel any bit of indecisiveness in the match up, I stay completely away from the game...TA said it best in one post I believe...."Sometimes the best pick is no pick at all"

Now that there is the sign of a great team! Wear down the starter and get to the pen early. Could not have said it better. If the Tigers can keep this up the will win a lot of games this year.

Mind you they haven't played any top notch teams yet, but if they get in the habit NOW, it might carry over when it's needed most. Scary thought, wonder if they could pull off a 35-5 start this season.

Feels like I haven't been able to find much of anything these past few days. Seems like anything I think I see when lines come out don't end up being much at all.

I think I need to hear it every now and again and it's more for me than everyone else, but as a reminder, we're still only a week into the season and there is no need to play every game every day. Double check all your info and unless you feel totally comfortable, there is no need to make a play.

Here is what I tell everyone when they are new to wagering baseball:
record every stat from mlb.com for everygame all season
start to look at what the winning and losing teams are/aren't doing
at some point, it will click for you if you keep looking at the data

once that has been accomplished, it's then time to look at some finer points of the games. things like pitcher/batter match-ups, success rate in day/night games for batters and tossers, the same with home and away games.

yes, it takes time to record the data but the more you have, the better analysis you will be able to make. probably, not what you wanted to hear but there is no sense in just putting money on a game for no reason other than to just have action on it.

i'm rather surprised nobody responded to this earlier but it's fine. remember, their aren't any 'dumb' questions, except the one(s) that aren't asked. looking forward to your next post later today.

I have noticed here in this thread that TA and I have very different styles. Often when we find a consensus we have a pretty good pick. I think of it of near zero conflict or stars aligning or something like that. I am still trying to figure out TA's methods, but his capping is so complex it can't really be explained. Always a very pragmatic guy. Mine could probably be explained pretty quickly minus the occasional special situation. For example, the Twins playing in their new park the other day against the Red Sox. They used to call me Mr. Friday because I'd track which teams like the weekend and which ones play like it is another day.

Yes, you're 100% right - we each `cap the games in a way that works best for us and as said previously, not an issue nor a problem with that. It's not that complicated - it just uses over 20 facets for the one process and over a dozen on the second with various amount of weight for each. I do recall you going on some great runs on Fridays and hope you'll start having them again. As mentioned before, the power of the thread increases when everyone adds their input and when the results of the various ways all or nearly all equate to a certain play, well ... you'll see and the results will speak loud and clear for themself.

If my NBA season is any signs of my MLB season then I should quit now. You probably missed the biggest tanking of all time. I lost most of my profits. I didn't bother to grade the final results after losing the last game. I wasted my time doing an NBA Thread.
