Hey, TA, which book do you use for the play? I'm pretty sure Bookmaker has it, although they haven't posted it yet. I'm just curious, really.

Saunders has made a pair of starts in the National League, and he has allowed just 3 earned runs in 16 innings of senior circut work.

Latos has pitched 9 straight games in which he has allowed 2 earned runs or less, and his season ERA is a slim 2.47 this year.

These teams have played under the total in 3 of their 5 meetings in the desert this season, and the Padres have been under the total in 3 of their last 5, while the Diamondbacks have been under the posted price in 4 of their last 6 games overall.

Arizona starter Joe Saunders has made 2 starts with the Diamondbacks this year allowing 3 runs total in those 2 starts. The Diamondbacks are 7-2-1 UNDER off a win and they are 6-2-1 UNDER their last 9 games vs. righty starters. Arizona is 5-0-1 UNDER their last 6 home games vs. righty starters. San Diego starter Mat Latos has allowed 3 or less runs in 15 of his last 16 starts. The Padres are 9-3 UNDER their last 12 road games vs. lefty starters. San Diego is 8-3 UNDER in the last 11 starts made by Latos and they are 4-1 UNDER after scoring 5 or more runs in their last game. PLAY ON 'UNDER' (Saunders vs. Latos)

Question for you guys, in the Detroit game, going into the bottom of the 7th I could have gotten +840 odds on the Angels. Thus I could have laid basically a unit to cover my Detroit bet and the vig (det to win 7 units), obviously I'm just using round numbers except for the +840.

Do you guys do this? It seems like pretty good value with only a 2 run lead. I'm not doing it in this game.

Now in the bottom of the 7th, Detroit runner on 2nd, 1 out, I can get +1000. This seems like a pretty reasonable hedge.

Any thought on this in general? Not just this game but these types of general situations.

It sounds like a smart thing to do to me. It's the reason I want to get an account in a book which offers live odds. You'll slightly reduce the amount that you'd win, but you could really reduce the amount you're leveraged.

This would be a good tool to use as a hedge on parlays, especially the back end. One could easily lock in a profit it seems just by waiting for the in game odds. However experience has taught me that parlays are sucker bets. As has been stated in this thread - "Play twice to get paid once?"

Sometimes BM, sometimes the local and other times other outs.

Anytime you have an opportunity to be cash positive from a game, to me and how things are done, one should take the g'tee profit and if the team wins/covers you have additional earnings. Like I've stated my times at SBR, a pretty record is nice but doesn't mean profit has been obtained.

Live wagering accounts are worth it but try not to burn the bridge on the first/second go around.

Great example VegasPlayer (parlay, last leg remains). Generally, to me, they are as you stated but if it's no more than one unit and done once every 100 or so wagers, it's not that big of a deal. And you're right, play twice to get paid once isn't in the punters favor very much.

you'd be mad not to hedge to at least your initial bet for 0.1-0.2 unit or to profit if you want. its up to you. i generally hedge unless the degen in me kicks in
