    Forget SOSA, BONDS, McGUIRE...

BASEBALL's Blow up dolls, full of steroids.

Dawson had "natural" strength. 1987 MVP with last place Cubs.

Said Sandberg, " He took pride in everything he did. He was there hours before everyone else getting treatments on his knees, and he was the last one to leave. And he never complained. Once the game started, he played all out.
He'd steal a base, run balls down in the gap..he played hard and he played to win", unlike today's prima donnas.
He signed the blank check with Dallas Green for 500K. Dawson said, " They made me a low offer to get me to turn it down." But money wasn't the issue, he wanted to play on natural grass to save his career.( came from the turf in Montreal)
A true CLASS act, more what baseball needs today!!!

Good to see the Hawk finally get his props. 438 homers and 314 SB's means he should have been voted in sooner. Straight skill.............

As a lifelong RedSox fan, I'm wondering what it was that Ellis Burks did to garner his 2 votes to be among baseball's elite.

I loved Ellis, but Cooperstown-worthy? What's next, change the Cy Young to the "Al Nipper" award?

I couldn’t be happier about Dawsons acceptance. He was an incredible player who is all too deserving of the HOF. The fact that he was so well known even with a last place team speaks to his character and skill. A great man and player caps of an incredible career the only way it should be capped off… with a HOF induction.

Hof should never become a "best of who's left" award, and in this case, it's a guy who was passed over 8 times already.

            agree !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, any person who doesn't vote for someone because it's their "first time on the ballot", should immediately have their voting rights removed. Sad state of affairs this voting paternity is.
it is usually the case that a players # of votes will increase each year. he needed 5 more votes. hes a lock to get in next year
