    past -1.5 runline disaster
I remember one of my losing runline bets from last summer:

I bet Chi Cubs at home -1.5 for plus money. I can't remember who they were playing but I remember it was a day game.

Cubs leading 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth. First two outs are routine, no one on base, batter down to his last strike and he hits a routine ground ball to the SS, who mishandles the ball and his error allows the runner safely to first, no problem, I wasn't worried.

Next batter, first pitch, hits a high fly ball to shallow left field, routine out, game should be over, nope, left fielder looks up and you could see that he was lost, couldn't see the ball, I watched as the ball landed six feet behind him and with two outs runner scored from first base, score 5-4 Cubs. Next man up grounds out, game over!
    Sickening!

I watched the sportscasts that day and of course that play was on all the "highlights".

Since that game, I've been wary of the -1.5 runline.

Does anyone else remember that game? or have a similar experience?

The Run Line is a dangerous play. It may pay much better compared to the Money Line especially when the line is set low for the favorite but strange things happen for no apparent reason, and it has to happen when u have action on it. The 9th scares the living shit out of me when Im taking the Run Line. In your case, they're up by 2 runs, last chance for the opponent..and the good ol'MR Reliable Closer is on the mound. 1 out goes. Awesome. Now another quick one's gone. Sweet! The players on the field become more relaxed! They are supercomfortable and know that a mess-up cant cost them the game. They're up by 2 afterall, with nobody on....and only 1 out away from the game. A WIN for sure. That to them means 1 run. They could care less if it's 2,3,4,5, etc...! How many times have we seen late comebacks in the 8th or 9th, only to have it fall short. But not short enough to cost US on the RL.
Can u imagine making a living off of the RL....?
I'd give myself 5 more years to live from all that stress and heart-ache

Last week, Braves up 6 to 2 in the ninth and GIVE UP 3 runs to the Marlins. Lost the RL play.
