    Cain -109 & Under 8
    Josh Bard 2-9, 3 K
    Michael Barret 0-5, 2 K
    Geoff Blum 1-7,
    Russell Branyan 0-1, K
    Mike Cameron 1-14, 4 K
    Jose Cruz 0-2, K
    Marcus Giles 3-9, K
    Adrian Gonzalez 3-16, 4 K
    Khalil Greene 4-14, 4 K
    Kevin Kouzmanoff 0-3, K
    Terrmel Sledge 0-4, K
Cain: 7 starts vs. SD, 3-1, 21 hits, 26 walks, 10 ER, 1.96 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, .135 BAA. THE PADRES HAVE 8 TOTAL HITS IN THE LAST 25.1 INNINGS THEY HAVE FACED CAIN.

W/L record is the most overrated thing in baseball when it comes to finding value. Rodrigo Lopez was a great example today, Matt Cain may be a better example tomorrow. Cain has better overall numbers than teammate Matt Morris, but is 2-8 compared to Morris's 7-4. This might seem like a bold statement, but I still think Cain will finish the season with a winning record. He's 6th in the league in BAA, 15th in ERA, he just doesn't get any run support, and when he does, the bullpen blows it.
Maybe one of those things happens again here. I don't know. Good offenses have given him a little trouble (NYM, Phi, NYY), but he dominates poor offensive teams. Maddux is going to have to be lights out to beat him. At this point in his career he is a pitcher who you can expect to give you a borderline quality start, and that's what he's been doing: 6 IP, 2 or 3 runs pretty much every time out. I'll call this one 4-1 SF.

    Astros +149

I can't stand Woody Williams, but this number is a tad high. Suppan isn't even in the realm of a shutdown pitcher, and he has had a lot of trouble with the Astros in the past.

    2-6, 4.72 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, .306 BAA
Williams, on the other hand, while perhaps destined for a Marothian 20-loss season, might not get #11 here. He's been very good against the Brewers:

    12-6, 3.05 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, .235 BAA
and, while this isn't the Brewers of old, he has had good success against Hardy (1-4) and Fielder (0-3) in limited appearances, and no one on the Brewers' roster hits him particularly well except Damian Miller, who isn't a regular starter.

Astros will need to get a substantial lead to hold it with the sorry ass bullpen arms Garner trots out there.

I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a concern OWNED.

        Mariners Under 9.5

Last play of the day. On May 3, Matsuzaka gave up 7 runs to these very Mariners. 5 of those were scored in a fluky first inning which saw three walks, a HBP, two errors, and a double. After that, he settled in and was effective. More importantly, he has pitched very well since then, lowering his ERA from 5.45 to 4.01 in his last nine starts. He's struck out 34 in his last 26 IP and is finally showing why the Red Sox paid so much just to negiotiate with him. Seattle has almost an exclusively right-handed lineup, especially if Ibanez is still unavailable, and Ichiro has never hit Matsuzaka particularly well.
The 8-7 game last night wasn't a huge surprise, since the Red Sox hit RHP very well and the Mariners are absolutely killing LHP. Boston, however, does not, and they could struggle tonight with the unknown Feireiband. The Red Sox are only scoring 4.0 rpg against LHP on the road, they've lost 5 in a row on the road against LHSP, and they've lost 7 of 9 overall against LHSP. Both bullpens are good. I'm thinking Boston wins, but either way, it should be low-scoring.
Both bullpens are in the league's

He's doing it again today I see Razz. Pitching a great game and gets no run support.

On San Fran today and can't believe Cain is pitching beautifully and can't get any support. I mean come on Maddux is good, but he has lost it a bit. Maybe they'll throw him out in 7th and SF can pick up a few runs.

Looks like everything is going to be close, though the first under should be an easy one. I'm going to add a night play if these four show a profit.

I think your screwed in that Astros game though Razz. Plenty of chances for the Astros to win this game, and they just flat out blew them all.

Well Giants lost. Thats why Cain is 2-8. He gives 6 or 7 good innings and gets no support then goes out next inning and the opp. works a run against him.

                        Ski Mask does it again.

Miller homered to left center, Hall and Jenkins scored. (91)

Good thing SF gave up those two unearned runs.
