I'm sure most people here will say Cain as a huge dog has value, but I'm not so sure. Even if SF has a lead going into the late innings, Boston will still have an edge if the SF pen gets involved.

I see there is a big Spiro lean with Boston today. However, I'm going to take my chances with SF in this game myself.

I agree with this Ganch. The Giants are simply a bad team. Cain has dominant stuff, but he's still young and inconsistent and I think the Sox offense will get to him. I just can't see how SF can score enough runs to win this game. I'm passing because I can't lay the -210 and the RL doesn't offer much more value, but I wouldn't even consider taking the Giants.

Tomorrow (Morris/Wake) is SF's best chance of winning a game in this series.

Just hoping for a strong game from SF....i was leary myself of SF but clearly Cain is worth a shot. Got feeling this could be a blowout though in Boston's favor. .

Very late post but I played the Giants today blindly without doing my homework. Now, that I've done my homework, it is the only play I would've had again today anyway.

Maybe I'm an idiot but I see value with Cain. We'll see how it turns out.

What a pathetic 8th inning by SF. The most feared hitter in the game Bonds takes 5 pitches and doesn't even swing the bat with runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody out all this after he was up 2-0 in the count. What the **** did you think he was going throw you other than a fastball right down the middle. ****ing idiot....

This will suck to lose 1-0 on a decent size dog.

Very frustrating to watch indeed! I made a fairly big play on SF +185 and wanted to throw my remote at the fukkin TV when Bonds just stood there watching the balls go by with none out and two men on.

SF has left a combined 5 men stranded in the 7th & 8th.

                  Putrid.

Needing a miracle in the ninth.

1-2-3 for the Giants...no fight whatsoever. On a day where Matt Cain pitched brilliant, the Giants looked like a minor league team against a pitcher who is sooooooo overrated in Dice-K.

You could see the emotion on Bonds face....what a ****ing loser.

I'll say it again, no one is unluckier than Matt Cain.

I wouldn't say that Razz. Anthony Reyes was really unlucky too. That guy didn't give up hardly any runs and all, and they didn't get him any run support. Now he's back down in the minor leagues, and tearing it up down there.

You aren't serious are you? Reyes's ERA was 6.08. In 9 starts, he made one quality start.

10 of Cain's 14 starts have been quality starts. His last two starts, he's pitched 15 innings, given up 8 hits, 2 runs, and has been credited with two losses. His team is 2-12 in his starts despite his ERA being 3.05, which is 18th in all of baseball. He's in the top 10 in batting average against. Watching him pitch, he has been as dominant as anyone except Haren and Peavy.

The only guy who is even comparable is Joe Kennedy, who is 2-4 with a 3.50 ERA, but his other numbers aren't as good as Cain's and he doesn't pass the eye test nearly as well.
