I don't know if you guys noticed this or not, but I've noticed more and more that catchers are starting to really get chewed out by pitchers this year. I happen to notice a few nice trends on the Molina brothers, and we all know what happen with Big Z and Barrett. Then just last night Dan Wheeler imploded in the 8th, and there were words exchanged in the dugout. I think this might be something we should be looking at a little more right now.

    What do you guys think?

The Wheeler thing was with another pitcher though Dan. From what I understand, the starter Chris Sampson tried to console Wheeler after he blew the lead and Wheeler shoved him. Nothing to do with the catcher there.

I stand corrected on that Wheeler comment Mr.Eagles. However, I still feel there is something there in regards to following catchers like we do umpires.

I think it pays to know which catchers get over valued as signal callers, etc. A prime example to me is Brad Ausmus with the Astros. He's been touted by the organization as some sort of friggin jedi master .. but you can readily see that when the talent i.e. no Clemens, no Pettitte, etc. leaves - he's not a difference maker.

Kinda how Phil Jackson is a genius when he has the two best players in the league on his team, but can't coach mediocre-above average guys into a good team.
