Currently, 38 states (plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico) offer legal sports betting in some format.
So, IMHO, the Rules need to be revisited because Sportsbooks no longer have to hide behind offshore enterprises. It's out in the open and it's what the TAXPAYERS want within their own STATE LAWS. My State has chosen to do business with Fanatics Sportsbook at their Off Track Betting brick and mortar locations.
Yesterday the Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 12-3 in what was a 7 inning rain shortened legal game. I had the Twins Over their team total and Ober Over his strikeout total. In fact both wagers were "winners" after only 5 innings but both will be voided because the game did not go the full 8.5 or 9 innings.
Understand that I am not crying here. I knew the rules before I placed the wagers and I fully accept the voided tickets. I am merely suggesting it's time to revisit these rules since the civilians ultimately pay to operate the State OTB programs.
Let's have a reasonable discussion here. I feel that the Sportbooks continue to hide behind antiquated rules that they designed to screw the players when the players had no choice other than to play with Offshores.
What say you???
