Angels are -145 against baltimore tomorow, with weaver heading up there and the bats hot as can be. Against tillman whose numbers are not very good especially in the walk department. The angels really kill teams when they get alot of baserunners and they are a very patient team at the plate. I think the price is a real bargain for the game. And I think the angels will take this game, they are red hot again and coming off sweeping the Rays.

#4Yeah I don't see how its a trap unless the bookies somehow know that tillman is gonna come out and pitch a real gem and the baltimore bullpen can shut down the angels. Both things are extremely unlikely. Honestly I think the linesmakers think weaver is overrated, and honestly he has been helped a huge amount this season by some bigtime run support. But only time will tell who is right, hopefully I am and I get payed for it BOL allComment -

#9Forget about Weaver's ERA in his recent games. The Angels don't need good pitching to win games, especially on the road. The Angels are about to go on another 17-3 run like they did recently. Let's ride them especially against pathetic teams like the O's.Comment -

#10well it turns out that Angels are due for a letdown tonight according to legend MRBATOR:
Baltimore over the L.A. Angels - Looks like a lock, right? For the Angels, not the hapless Orioles, right? I'm going to take a chance that the Angels might not be at all pumped up for the start of this long road trip. The Halos clearly got themselves geared up this week for the visit by the American League champion Rays, and the Angels have to be pretty darn satisfied with themselves right about now, having swept Tampa Bay out in California despite being at an apparent disadvantage in the pitching matchups in all three games. They blew the fading Rays away by relentlessly pounding them with an average of 8 runs and 11 hits per game. That has to be a good feeling for this team, who lost in the ALDS last year to Boston, who then went on to lose to Tampa Bay.
But now they're up against the clueless O's in Baltimore, and that can't feel like much of a challenge. The last time these two teams met, the Angels won 3 out of 4 at Angel Stadium in the first week of July. In each of the final two games of that series, the Orioles took quick 4-0 leads against Sean O'Sullivan and Joe Saunders. But each time, the Angels busted out the whooping sticks and went on to bury the O's under a hail of extra base hits, blowing them out 11-4 and 9-6. How can you take that kind of opponent seriously the next time you meet them?
A lot of bettors are excited to have Jered Weaver going for them tonight, but a lot of bettors haven't done their homework. Weaver is a glittering 12-3, but that record has been aided greatly by tons of Angels offense. The fact is, though, that Weaver has been hittable when pitching on the road after pitching at home. And that's just not this season, but throughout his short career. This season, Weaver has started seven times on the road after starting his previous game at Angel Stadium. Only once was he able to hold a team to under 3 earned runs, and the one time he did that (at Toronto on July 18th), he was pitching on 6 days rest after the All-Star break. Outside of that start, Weaver has averaged 7 innings pitched and 4.6 earned runs allowed in 6 road starts that followed a home start. That's not a guarantee that he'll pitch poorly tonight, but don't be surprised either if he does.
The Orioles haven't won a series since before the All-Star break, and tonight they start a pitcher the Angels have never seen. I doubt the overconfident Angels really care about that, either. To most, all the pieces seem to be in place for a laughable Angels runline winner, but to me, the pieces are almost all in place for a down and out team to catch their superior opponent napping.DO WORK + KROW OD

#13What a load of bull. Aside from some good stats on Weaver he is basing that analysis on emotional factors and swings etc. You can't call that shit.
I'll agree that the line is fishy and that it hasn't moved is even fishier, but I still LOVE the Angels here.
In all press I've read lately it seems clear that the emotional high is still there. The Halos are set to get Izturis back as well as Hunter and are loving their team and at least in interviews, show no signs of going to bed just because they are on the road against a shite team.
A pitcher they haven't seen before Bator says? Who cares, none of the other teams who faced Tillman had seen him before and they all managed to take him deep. In fact, in 3 starts he's given up FIVE home runs. And that's against KC, DET and TOR. I ask you who have the better bats, the Angels or the aformentioned three? KC alone took him deep three times. KC.
So who's a better pitcher. Weaver off a home start on the road, or Tillman at home? I'll take Weaver and his 6 to 7 innings and I'll take the Angels bats any day.
If Baltimore has even a whisper of a chance it's going to come late after a close game. Otherwise LAA jumps out early and punishes all game. Kendry Morales is on fire and Vlady is finally rounding out and going deep. One of these two guys goes deep tonight.Comment -

#30Hahaha. This is so bad it's almost hilarious. I have no idea who BATOR is but even he couldn't predict 6 in the first. This is a complete MELTDOWN by Weaver. I don't understand why the coach isn't visiting the mound more and trying to settle him down.
