Anyone feeling strongly about the Pads or Braves? I wanted to take the pads +1.5, however there laying -140 on that and I just cant stomach myself to throw that much juice down for a team that has nothing to play for and sucks. On the other hand you got the braves, who off of last night are coming in off a nice win and need to keep winning to stay in the wild card hunt. Right now I can get the braves at -144, which to me seems like the play. Hanson is dirty for the braves. Another thing I'm thinking is that with Gaudin and Hanson on the mound, who right now only so many people know about the total is at very low 7. I'm gonna assume some regulars are gonna be out of the lineup with a day game after a night game, however these are not two pitchers you would immediately identify an under with. Now I'm thinking that maybe the oddsmakers have a reason to put it this low and that there will be minimal scoring. I think the under may be the best play. Thoughts?

Paco...just took ATL -1.5 for 1 unit. All of the other bets have strange payouts. The squares think under but the under is paying...+105.....the over is -130. ATL ML is -152 (No Value)....FF for ATL is -155 (No Value)....and the OVER is -125....(REALLY NO VALUE)....

So I just took ATL -1.5 since it's the only thing paying better than even money......I can't take SD since ATL is sending a pimp out to pitch.

So ATL -1.5 it is for me......1 Unit.

Hope that made sense. That's how I bet. I take in all the game info and equate that to the lines and payouts....

Usually when you do it that way you can see WHAT the BOOK wants you to play......and you make the opposite bet.

It's been working so far.

Rookie Tommy Hanson (5-2,3.25) has wasted no time becoming a factor in the Braves future plans. He's been a highly touted prospect for a very short time and has already proven he belongs in the major leagues. Atlanta has a history of developing young pitchers into superstars, and this kid may be the next in line. He's been very consistent of late, with a 3.94 ERA in his last 34 innings pitched. The Braves sometimes struggle to score runs, so he'll have to be at his best this afternoon at Petco Park.
Veteran righty Chad Gaudin (4-9, 4.76) goes to the hill for the Padres. He's been great recently, except for one start where allowed 3 earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. Even with that outing, Gaudin has a 3.08 ERA in his last 26 innings. Eliminate the one really bad outing, and he's been really strong recently. San Diego also really struggles to score, so Gaudin, like Hanson will have to be extra careful in this one.

Pretty good matchup tonight in DC as the Marlins try to bounce back from a shocking loss last night. Florida led Washington 4-0 in the bottom of the eighth when the Nats exploded for 6 runs and the 6-4 win.
Florida will send Rick Vandenhurk to the mound tonight. Vandenhurk is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA. He's a youngster that the Marlins have high hopes for. Florida has had some success with young pitchers recently, but needs to be careful with Vandenhurk, so to avoid some of the inuries that have plagued their young starters in recent years. He has 16 K's in 17 innings, which is always a good sign for a young pitcher.
Washington counters with their ace, John Lannan (7-8, 3.41). Lannan has been very consistent all season, a pleasant change for the Nats, who always seem to be swimming upstream as they battle to find a winning formula. Lannan is as steady as they come, as he's pitched to a 3.28 ERA in his last 35 innings pitched

Damn I'm a bit late, already having got my run in the 1st inning tho! But Gaudin let base runners galore come up in the top half of the 1st. Not Good! I ended up taking the Padres+1.5. I think that this game will go over too, but I didn't have the nuts to do it.

I have been out and about on the town doing some goodies.
