Is anyone else getting bad juice on team totals. I got -160 on Cleveland over 4.5 and -155 on Bosox over 4.5. I'm with Betonline.

That is a problem with team totals occasionally. I would not lay -155 or -160. Earlier this morning they were both -140. On the other side of the coin, Houston was even money.

Thanks DD, yes I would say anything past -130 is a judgement call.

DD did last year start off slow for regular plays. With limited info I could see why. If it did start slow how far into the season did it start turning? I know your ending record was very solid.

I might be way off; but I feel the line should be 10.5 and even that line I would go over. I think it will be over 13; but I will stick with 8. I will stop posting when I lose a game. Thxs DD

DD thanks for the thread man. I have a quick question for you, which I've actually posted about here at sbr once before. I have a local who has set lines on all totals. Meaning he doesn't change his lines day in and day out with team totals. They are always set to -120 no matter what. So if the Cubs are listed at O4.5 -150 at pinnacle, my local has O4.5 -120. Always. Never changes. Where can I find the information for true lines that are listed by bookmakers for team totals? And also, if you were given a set juiced line at -120 would you have a certain strategy to play by? Meaning if there was a 40 cent difference between the true line and your locals line, where you had the edge, would you make it an automatic play? Would you think of playing a chase system with a specific team? Or would you just continue to cap the games and play the teams you felt best about? You are a good capper and I'd appreciate your opinion. Thanks DD!

As far as playing, I would first find first half totals that you like and see if your "guy's" -120 line is better than the prevailing line.

I would also say if your "guy's" line is a 40 cent difference in your favor, you may want to play that blindly since over time it has a high probability of working in your favor, IMHO Good luck

One more note Rusty, over time a -120 line in baseball will "kill" you so I'd find another "guy".

HG I have thought about doing that because who can argue guaranteed profits, but I think I'd rather just try to take advantage of getting extremely cheap prices on picks that I'm confident in, instead of nickel and diming everyday for a small profit. Although that probably is the smartest way to go as far as guaranteed profit is concerned

HeeluvaGuy has the most prudent advice. However, anytime you can get -120 on a game of any kind that is -160 every where else, you should be a winner over time.

This is a "Reliever Play" so it has nothing to do with the starters, other than we do look at the average pitch count of the starter, but that is a small factor for the Reliever Plays. Bottom line, it's still a Reliever Play. If it were a Regular Play, that would be a different story.
