On a side note, I'm playing around with a new stats system model that's been doing very well in recent days. I fully expect this to fall apart completely once I start posting the picks, but just to see what happens:

Weak: HOU, NYM, COL, LAA, LAD
All picks were made prior to game time, but we'll discount the games that have already started/ended (to be fair) leaving 9 more games today. Let's see what happens...

Perez (Perez is 0-2 in his last three starts against the Padres, allowing 11 runs and 19 hits while walking seven batters and hitting three more with 14 strikeouts in 12 1-3 innings) looked horrible last time out.. san diego is really hot right now.. their own pitcher will probably give up around 2 or 3... so they will have to score runs to win this one.. plus i love the padres over the mets in the later innings.. so I will grab the points just in case they are down a run going into the 9.. and lay a nice bet on the team over 4
last baseball pick is going to be the brewers team total over 4.5 (-120)
the brewers have lost 5 in a row.. this offense can rack up the runs especially when playing in miller park

. I just play em. There are VERY few pitchers that are worthy of -150 or more chalk. I just look for big Crumbs with RLM. This is not basketball. Expect the unexpected.

toronto +130?? i mean Baker can come out tonight and have some issues.. Toronto is going to want to get one back after yesterday..and have the hottest offense in the majors so far leading with 56 runs...
dont get me wrong baker can come out and be lights out.. but coming back from the DL it just as likely that he will be toss up just like Richmond, but Min has never seen Richmond.. i expect Richmond to come out looking to improve after his shaky start (4.0 IP , 1 hr , 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO. last time out)..
I think it comes down to the offense in this match up and Toronto has a huge edge..Comment -

I've noticed that BETUS seems to have adjusted their 1st inning VIG....compared to the beginning of they year.
Earlier most of the no-runs scored in the 1st inning were receiving VIG....now almost all are charging VIG....I hope they aren't scanning these blogs..

marquis gets to face his old team on wed afternoon, and that should be an advantage for the cubs. soto will hopefully give a great scouting report to the rest of the hitters - not that marquis is anything more then an average pitcher. on the flip side, the cubs have arguably the best pitcher in the game (when healthy) in rich harden. a dominant first start, the rockies get to see his stuff for the very first time (advantage harden). over the last 3 seasons, the rockies are 0-8 at wrigley (and no more holliday to save them away from coors).

pettitte looked solid in game 1, while sonnanstine was brutal vs the o's. in his career, pettitte has a 3.70 era vs the rays, and the yanks have won 17 of those 24 starts. sonnanstine (6.09 career vs ny) got drilled in last years home start vs the yanks, and i expect the bronx bombers to once again tee off on him.
