Yes, they do. Which is why I was able to go back and research this whole concept. I think my next step is going to be to go back into last season. I'll try and get a month done every day and see what the data shows. I'll have to see if sbr odds has lines that go back to last year first though. otherwise there is no point in going back.

#78I could not work out the formula to calculate $$ for the 5% + Cold Picks etc boxes.
If someone knows excel well enough to do that bit it would be appreciated.Comment -

#83I have been fading the streak for cash favorites from time to time for a while now but decided to run the the numbers from last year after coming across this thread. I am through July 6th of last year, just past the mid way point and the numbers do not look very good.
2014 MLB Season thru July 6th
Looking at all picks between 0-25% on ESPN Streak For Cash
Overall Record: 254-311
Overall Profit: -$2165
0-5.9% (Profit based on $100 bet per pick): +$1726
6.0-15.9% (Profit based on $100 bet per pick): -$1031
16.0%-25% (Profit based on $100 bet per pick): -$2860
I did rush through this quickly so numbers may not be completely accurate but should be very close. I was actually quite surprised to be down over 21 units, however at one point during calculating this it was down close to 40 units so it has been turning around lately. I will finish the season up and let you guys know how it goes. I also was going to do the other major sports once I get a chance.Interesting to see how much better the 0-5.9% did then the others but I still got alot more games to go so we will see if it holds up.Comment -

#85No problem. I would like to spend more time analyzing favorites and underdogs as well and also go back to the previous years also. It seems to me that just a lot fewer underdogs won last year.Comment -

#94Could you do that on the 2014 excel sheet as well!? That'd be awesome!
Also if anyone would be interested in adding some more of the data to the 2014 MLB Season, that would be awesome. I didn't get all of April finished. Have a few more days left. My eyes are just killing me and i need to take a break. I'll get back to it tomorrow though.
Any help would be awesome though.
Thanks everyone. Have a good night!

#97If you get a couple of back seasons data Poirot, myself or someone else might be inspired to create a page to allow you to make whatif queries on the data and able to set/change your percentage numbers and odds you are interested in looking at etc.
Could do a breakdown of how it works each week/month of the season. Maybe a by team breakdown too..Comment -

use this as your url and just adjust the last code "20140708"
This represents the date you want to see, in this case July 8th, 2014
