I banged the Astros the last 2 nights but tonight is not the night to get cute. I know Keuchel is a beast, but upon further investigation, I firmly believe SD is the play on this one. I hope I am wrong because that would make handicapping so much easier moving forward.

But I've seen this type of scenario over and over and over again.

Straight up tailing Biff on a lot of these plays today. But once I looked into them I gotta admit they made a lot of sense. Very interested to see how these totals play out.

Nice start. I'll be away most of the night though. Probably just watching the Wings game.

            Good luck to everyone!

            I'll update my records tomorrow.

Not an amazing day yesterday, but it was a + unit day overall so I have no right to complain.

Going back to the basics. Just trying to get back into the +$$$ zone by grinding it out slowly.. the same way I have been successful in MLB in years past.

This is a pure degenerate early play early here. I think Cards win easily, but with the uncertainty behind the STL starter today and the outrageous juice (Cards ML is -240 as of this moment), I'll take what I perceive as a value play.

You did intend to use a decimal point in front of the units played, right?

                      Good luck.

                        I did.

My unit size right now in MLB is $50 based on my bankroll. For the NHL and NBA postseason, I cut it in half, because really I'm more or less just a degenerate putting in plays on those games.

So for this Phillies +1.5, for example, I put $12.50 to win. $12.50 on a game at -108 for me is .25u.

Did not envision being in the hole like $900 by the late evening of May 1st.

Eh well. Could be way worse. I could be a casino guy pawning my belongings to play slots.

I just remind myself that I have a budget. The bankroll is the money that I can afford to lose. When it gets to the point where there's no more bankroll, then there's no more terrortwylight.

But we're a ways from that. I've dug myself from much shallower graves.

Why you play one-too-many games? You just pick the spots increasing the units instead of picking many games.

                                              Cheers!

Yeah in years past I bet no more than 2-5 games per day.

I've been booking way too much right now.

Now, I'm beginning to turn profitable days again. As of tomorrow and moving forward, I will be flat betting. And given my "bankroll" on any given day, my unit is typically $50 a play. Here's my game plan:
1: If I really really like I play, I may slam it. But no more than 1 per week if it's a multi unit bed.
                                                          2. No more prop bets.
                                                          3. Go super light on totals.

One thing I was wondering early

As I said before, MLB is my "moneymaker" (I usually hold the money I won from MLB to fund my NFL or NCAAF handicapping, and since I decided to keep a season long thread, I wanted to make a few big plays right out of the gate to establish a presence early. I wanted to show everyone on this forum I am the real deal when it comes to bases. I've been registered since 2009 and specifically capping bases since I was 15 or so. Of course, I wasn't actually gambling money, but I would simulate having a bankroll and keeping a record. I am so glad I did that.

I see tons of people who joined SBR years and years after I did with 3 times, 4 times, maybe even 10 times as many posts that I have. So while I find it awesome that the community @ SBR is growing, it also means misinformation will spread like wildfire. When I first started posting here, it was way different.. People would legitimately help each other because there was an understanding amongst all of the posters. We had our strong points and our weak points, and together we kicked bookie ass.

I'll say this as well, last thing. I would love to talk to (most of) you guys about a game you're wondering about. Or if you see one of my picks and can't understand why in the world I would take the bet. LET ME KNOW WHY! JUST ASK ME ABOUT IT!

Lastly, feel free to post picks your own picks here as well. All I ask is that you make it clear that as long as it's made clear it's YOUR pick and not mine. If it hits, I don't deserve the accolades. And if it loses, I don't deserve the dent on my record. my YTD has been shitty enough with just me behind the wheel. Just keep your own YTD if you do decide you want to post some picks from time to time over here.
