Buddha, you are very wise. There is only action here if we deem it to be profitable. We cannot create action. The Dog Machine© creates bets, but he cannot invent bets.

Restraint, discipline...makes the foundation of true wisdom. When I found the Ali thread last year....when I stumbled in here cuz football was starting lol...I went back thru and read a lot of the pages. It was really loooooooooooooooooooong that thread. As this one is shaping up to be. When done reading I knew you were among the few that had truly acquired the wisdom that you now accuse me of having...so scandously lol. The very best thing about this thread won't be the winners or the +EV suggestions or even the positive season-end balance but the many nuggets here that will make other's journey to what you describe less long and treacherous than ours has been. Nugget #13 = Betting stuff just to have action = eventual despair. What I love MOST about Ali is that she will sometimes bet nothing at all.

In a perfectly Square World betting nothing at all gets you a winner 62.3% of the time*.

To clarify..."winner" = avoided losing bet just so you could have action on a game

which only resulted in you being less happy

(*Aggregate over LY NFL & NCCAF, NCAAB, this year thus far NBA and a few days of MLB...individual Action Junkie's result's might vary + or - 6.6%)

Thanks very much for this comment. We loved the fact that your comment had to do with more than just betting. There's more to life than watching the Cubbies drub the Rockies, although that was pretty nice too.

If anyone is interested, I have tracked all of their dog bets on the run line at 1 flat unit even if they play it as half. currently 17-8 and +3.40 units.
I will keep tracking this for a bit longer, but feel that long term this might not be very profitable compared to playing the money line. the juice on these are usually between -160 and -200 and assuming the dogs hit at exactly 50% this season (meaning dropping slightly from where they are now) the run line might not be profitable.

I think we'll hit our 50% this year. I'm glad you tracked this. We are afraid to mess with the Dog Machine© too much. Every time we try to tune it up or get more speed out of it, it freezes up. But whatever anyone can do to improve it's picks we are all for it.

The Dog Machine© did not spit out a game again today. What you have to keep in mind however is that the Dog Machine© will probably spit out around 400 dogs by the Series. Ali never fudges the rules so when the Dog Machine© doesn't have a game, oh well.

Hayduke doesn't go by any rules, though. So he's got two dogs coming up. It's slim pickins' today. But hey, get ready. When the Dog Machine© gets running, you'll have a ton of games here. Enjoy the respite and put money in your bankroll. You'll be needing it pretty quick.
