#3397Good Afternoon TA, Good Luck on all your plays Buddy. Going out with my son golfing this afternoon. Real sore from hockey this morning. Maybe when your kids go back to school, we can get out one day and hit the little white ball.
Also, anyone know anything about electric stoves and what causes the burners to only get a warm temp? If so, please PM me.earlier and will guess you're 20+ yards shorter than normal. Sounds good.
"Hire it Done" is on WRIF on Sunday's I believe and is a home repair radio call in show. There is a link to it, HID, from RIF's site.
Another option is Home Depot. I've gone there and explained what I wanted to do and was told you need , this, this, this and this and here's how it all comes together.
Some of the stoves I've seen had burners that could be removed by hand ("snap" into place, maybe it wasn't pushed all the way back in. If not, check the dial to make certain there's nothing blocking the outer knob. Not it, cut the power to the stove, lift the lid of the stove and check "the wiring" & inner knob, any cracks/chips/sections missing? Hopefully, that will resolve it for you. We switched everyone over to gas stoves/ovens a while ago but since the city past an ordinance that will allow solar electric, this coming spring we'll be building it and save everyone some money but they won't like it because their rent will go up $20-25 a month to help offset the costs. Nobody's had an increase since we've taken over so they'll have to deal with it or leave. All contracts end either December of January and after next year they will all be January.Comment -

#3402Good afternoon VegasPlayer,
4-5 isn't horrid but we both know you're capable of going 7-2 or better, right?
Thank you, sometimes the line between a win & loss is less than an eye lash's width. That's sound advise everywhere. People may get mad at you for holding up the line but tough, you need to be certain your tickets are punched right. That was nice of them to let her void her ticket - give the place a plug here. One has to love a spouse who's doing the gambling thing too - she sounds like a great match for you.
Just got in from work. Yea, I took a few months off after doing it non stop for a couple of years. Just gettin back into the swing of things. Just a matter of time. Props to The Hilton - They're "Firm But Fair"...and close to the house, but they run a good book. Paper just rated them among the top 3 in town if that means anything. My wife is the love of my life, she doesn't know jack about sports, but can navigate a casino like nobody else and loves that money!!! We make a good couple. Thanks for the kind words and support.Comment -

#3403Seriously, VegasPlayer the NFL is my worst sport of the five majors for the USA. I watch the games for enjoyment. Most of the time their is very little, if anything, on a game. I believe a person needs to have a sport to just chill/watch without the stress from wagering, for me this is the NFL. I know who to follow and fade from the various forums and earn some that way. Not to mention, there's(NHL) and a couple of
tracks that get a portion of my attention, effort and time. Thank you thinking I'd be good at it (NFL), but that would not be correct. I do better in college football, but don't have listings/plays/selections every week and like the NFL I know who to fade and follow to pick up some coin. There is a thread I started called Shits & Giggles in the college football thread with some futures that might still be good out there for you.
Looking foward to your Hockey thread and I'm always up for the ponies.Comment -

While I appreciate you posting in here, this bothers me that (1) you did not list the site, (2) it's not your pick to post on other boards - this is just wrong and (3) might or might not be "pretty good" because nobody knows where this came from & many/most feel that when you go to a new board, you start with a 0-0-0 & even record.
Repeating, I don't mean to be critical of this but unless the work is yours or you have written approval to post it here, please don't. You and most everyone else are welcome here to share your thoughts, ideas, selections, discuss match-ups/games etc but let's not do this again.Comment -

The Hilton - thank you, next time we are in town we will go there and play for the day. That's the kind of thing that builds business. To me, it doesn't matter the amount of the ticket ($5 or $5,000), they did the right thing and will make it a point to go there. Most women love the money. Glad it works for you guys.Comment -

#3408I surmised that from your earlier posts. Just interested in how you read football. I'm not real big on football either for some of the same reasons. I follow the Packers and the Cards as I lived many years in both areas and just enjoy the games mostly. I like an occasional teaser as I feel the lines are just too close to play any other way, but you need to pick 2 winners which can be a headache all by itself. College ball frustrates me because of the lack of talent and idiotic coaching decisions I see.
Looking foward to your Hockey thread and I'm always up for the ponies.
The NFL, while I enjoy watching the games, primarily falls on Sundays. We have always kept Sundays for family activities and our own little NFL contest that pays for a one week summer vacation/get-a-way. If you haven't picked up on it yet, we entertain at least six times a month on average and use the games to have family & friends over. I try to find mis-matches between offensive & defensive schemes. Thetrack I enjoy the most runs from mid-December to early May. Since you know about t'breds you know how much time is involved - I will not wager on a race that I can not view live (a couple seconds delay is fine) because I make trip notes, charting marks and other items that to me are important. College is easier because of the friendships we've made across the states and some of these folks feel as if it's a life and death situation - don't get me wrong, I appreciate their efforts but lighten up just a little and enjoy the game while it's in progress somewhat. Work-outs are something else I'm big on and have friends who watch them and report back to either of us what went on (rough track, path used, weather/track conditions, etc) Add that to the daily things for the NHL and you see why I don't have the time for it. Like the games but not enough to go heavier.

#3411I agree, starting from scratch (0-0-0) is only fair. FYI, I have garnered approval from the website to post these picks. The website is actually encouraging me to do this...

Pirates -140 (.5 units)

Phillies, CWS, Rockies parlay +219 (.5 units)
STL -1.5 -115 (1 unit)
12-1 +12.97 units
I do not know what the heck happened here... I did get an unwarranted "speeding" ticket from the boys in blue making their quotas so maybe my Karma is good.I swear this country is feeling more and more like Russia every day. Anyone hear about the new $3 tax on hard booze, and possibly beer for Cook County (I don't know where else)? What next? This one will be in by the end of the month....joy.
I have another large bet on the Broncos +3 NFL I'm watching for about 4 units. Let's see if that cashes; not looking great though.Comment -

#3417Good Day Gentlemen:
Played hockey this morning, went to the in-laws to repair an electric stove (no luck), now going out golfing. Making a quick play that I love. (uh-ohhhhhhhh)
Phillie at NYM:
Love the Phillies. Lost last night, the Mets have like their whole team on IR, the Phillies are one of the best road teams, Happ is a strong pitcher, Redding is not, blah...blah....blah
PICK: Phillie (5 units) risking 10
Record: 41-26-2
Good Luck Everyone...seems like we are all doing well lately. Keep up the good work, hope to see you later tonight.

#3418I really did NOT expect things to go this way for the season. I am going to take tomorrow off. I think that this is the best thing to do after a day like this. Too much temptation to stray from my money management system, and do risky bets + I really don't see anything spectacular for tomorrow. GL to you guys, and tread lightly.Comment -

Thanks for the information. I am going back over there today. The oven works, so I know it is specific to the burners. Ironically, it's all 4 burners and not just one. Time to get dirty. Thanks again for the help.Comment -

#3427Good Day Everyone, went to church, picked up some chicken and leaving shortly for another summer, family re-union.
Baltimore @ Chicago:
Baltimore:
Orioles won first game of this series, but they are 20-42 on the road, so they have their one road win. Berken throwing today and he is 1-5 on the road with an ERA of 8.39 and a WHIP of 1.75. They are 2-6 in their last 8 and are hitting .212 vs lefties in their last 10.
Chicago:
Buehrle is 0-1 in his last 3, and since his "perfect game", he hasn't won a game. However, he has a great home record. The Sox are 3-2 in their current home stand.
PICK: Sox (1 unit)
Record: 42-26-2 (+29 units)
Have a great Sunday, I hope to be back later today for more, sorry I missed your picks..............Comment -
