Wood only gave up 1 hit in his 1st start hes done well against the Brewers in the past

    Gomez 2 for 12
    Lucroy 1 for 8

Wily Peralta is going for the Brewers I've never seen him throw but he got shelled by the Rockies in his 1st start

Lhose didn't lose to the Cubs in 5 starts last year while he was with STL

Cubs have the 2nd worst team batting avg & OBP so far

Feldman was awful in his last start in ATL he had no control whatsoever

    Don't trust the bullpens

Villaneuva looked good in his first start @ATL and should have got the win but the pen blew that 5-1 lead of course

Cubs had the game yesterday as well until they decided to throw it away already the third time this year they've collapsed at least they get to see Cain who struggled last time @Wrigley but not putting much weight into that

It will also be interesting to see how Cain responds after getting shelled by STL giving up 9 runs and not making it out of the 4th has to hurt his confidence/mentality

I think Cain gives up 2-3 and Villanueva only gives up 3 at most..hopefully the bullpens don't blow because I nailed u9.5. I also see the weather "feels like" 36 degrees and rainy. Should go under.

He also didn't throw well last year @Wrigley against a similar lineup but no Castillo who has been the best bat for the Cubs

Castro & Soraino both have had success vs Bumgarner but Rizzo the only L in the lineup

Not sure what kind of pitch count Samardzija will be on and the Cubs bullpen is a disaster. Fujiakawa is on the DL so now Marmol will have to close again?

Chilly and wind blowing going to be interesting

Samardzija is probably on a 100-120 pitch pitch count as he is every time he pitches

Lincecum has been wild but hasn't been giving up hits hes also been successful @Wrigley (5 starts 3-0 1.82 ERA)

Edwin looked okay in his first start but against the Brewers he got rocked and has struggled with control

Scutaro & Sandoval the two hottest bats for the Giants also have the best career stats vs Edwin

Cubs put Navarro in the lineup for Castillo after his two pitch hit HRs - Castillo leads the Cubs in batting avg and 2nd in hits

Villanueva has been the most impressive starter so far in the rotation 14 IP only 1 run which was a solo shot by Justin Upton but the Cubs have the worst pen in the MLB with a league worst 6.06 ERA & BAA .300 the additions of Kevin Gregg and Kameron Loe don't show much hope

More importantly Cubs struggling to hit above .200 as a team and have a .276 OBP worst in the MLB

Miserable weather hoping they'll get this one in since its interleague

Cubs were 1 for 17 with RISP in the series vs the Brewers if they converted 3 or 4 more hits they could've won the series instead they got swept -- Good news is the Cubs have hit Leake in the past

Wood has been the Cubs best starter has an 1.8 ERA and is holding batters to a .189 batting avg

Reds batters don't have very many if at all any ABs vs Wood

Nice run here. I tried focusing solely on the NL central a few years back and it was pretty helpful when betting intradivision games. I'm with you on the Cubs today as well.

Wood got crushed by the Reds last year....6 or 7 runs by the 5th if I remember correctly. The Reds have also mashed lefties this year as well. As a Reds fan.....still rather have Wood over Leake though! Small play on Over 8 for me......Hanigan is out for Cincy.....Mesoraco is a better hitter....worse calling the game and throwing....good for Over.

I actually like Cincy here with Leake but its too much juice for my liking and I will skip it.

Nothing new in last nights game Cubs blow their 5th save of the year worst part is its been a different pitcher each time! The 13 innings last night put a strain on both bullpens so if either starter struggles early in the game it could get ugly.

Villanueva has been impressive so far this year he's only given up 3 runs (3 solo HRs) in his 3 starts but I don't think he will continue to keep this low ERA (1.29) and WHIP (0.8) -- career ERA as a starter is 4.58 & WHIP 1.33

Cincinnati leads the league in runs (111) hits (187) OBP (.352) and walks (89) = high scoring games

Cingrani is one of Cincys young studs I saw him pitch his first game and liked his stuff but he did throw a lot of pitches (102 in 5 IP) and got himself behind in counts often it seemed

Cincys bullpen is responsible for 6 of their 8 losses (4.11 ERA) and threw 6 innings last night -- surprised by the number of losses this pen is responsible for already this year

                                                      ( ACTION )

Marlins have the worst team batting average in all of baseball (.221) also dead last in runs scored (54) - The bullpen is just as bad with an ERA of 4.98 which is worse than the Cubs pen surprisingly

Cubs have the edge in starting pitching over the series with a team ERA of 3.44 which is 9th in the MLB

Cubs easily could have won that series vs the Reds they just have to convert when they have RISP – Cubs have had 23 ABs with a runner @3rd and less than two outs, but they have only got two hits in those situations (.77 BA)

Villanueva has been lights out in his starts 29.1 IP only 5 runs while holding opponents to a .167 BA and 0.75 WHIP - The Cubs rotation has been awesome just need run support they converted 2 of 8 RISP last night need to keep improving

Cubs pen hasn't given up a run in 12 IP helping them win these close games

MIA as a team hitting .220 (last) and OBP .280 (29th) - Marlins by far the worst team in the MLB this might be the only time the Cubs have a chance for a sweep, especially a 4 game sweep!
