Good card Pluth. Shooulda listened on NYY, had everything else same as you.
It took a comeback by NYY to make that good day happen, but I sure am glad it did.

I actually ended up playing Det, Was, and Mia....so 2-1 today for me. Tomorrow looks very promising
I sure love me some "A-Team"...the show, not so much the movie. There's something about Liam Neeson playing iconic American roles that bugs me. Although he was pretty badass in "Taken".

Locke is officially out, does that affect this play? So far I like OAK, PITT and possibily BOS and CIN. Pitt for me was more so a fade on Pettibone, so Locke being out barely affects my opinion on the play...unless you have a change of heart too.

i agree with your angle...pettibone is not the same pitcher on the road as he is at home...but obviously cumpton is a downgrade from locke

I def can agree with that. Another concern that I have is that I just realized that Pitt is on a 9 game win streak. I hate betting for and against streaks. But I cant see any reason for the Phillies to win this game

Crap. I don't play listed pitchers so I can't cancel this bet, but assuming I could I would knock it down to 3.0X at -160.
I am going to adjust my bet like my book does it though....
Pirates -165 8.5 to win 5.31

Couldn't you just cancel your bet and bet again? You still feel confident about Pitt tho? I mean ofcourse obviously alittle less since you want to lower the wager amount...but I still feel good since Pettibone is still pitching for Philly

Nope, no cancellations, no takesie backsies. I could place a little on Philly to counteract, but I'm not that concerned. I think Pit takes it.

Hi Bdolan, my name is Pluthero. I'm pleased to make your online acquaintance. You must be new to my thread here at SBR so please, let me explain. I lay chalk, heavy chalk, early and often. I have a thread from 2012 that you have apparently not seen because you obviously didn't take the time to read my first post from this thread. I was successful last year and will be successful this year using the exact same principles.
I can see from your response that you think it's silly, or perhaps irresponsible, to lay as much chalk as I do. That's fine, you are free to feel that way of course, but I disagree. I have a feeling that most individuals who check my thread play the run line (if they tail) to avoid the chalk, and they probably do well.
If you are looking for a capper who shares your opinions you are likely in the wrong thread. Might I direct you to leetreaper, though. He has a thread here that plays no chalk whatsoever and makes bank! I feel somewhat irresponsible telling you about him; no doubt once your elite handicapping skills are combined Las Vegas and bookies around the world will be broke, ending the gambling lifestyle as we know it.
Cheers,
Pluthero

Lovegamblin, thanks for checking in and the well wishes. Don't worry about leetreaper guys. I've got the guy on ignore so, unless I click "view post" which I do all too often, I am saved from his emoticon-madness. I think I saw Benny or someone comment recently about the ignore function too. It's great; I think I have at least a dozen posters on there (none that post in this thread with the exception of leet of course).
This reminds me of two of the three biggest complaints I have with SBR. I hate the emoticons and the celebration of high post counts. If you can't get your point across linguistically you probably don't have a point to begin with. There is one other message board I visit on an almost daily basis, and they have a saying: read more; post less. That should be a universal internet motto.
Great post here. GL tonight.

I believe you can file this posting under "Dripping Sarcasm".
I look at all this as pretty simple stuff. Some people lean towards MLB Chalk and some dogs. Who wouldn't have loved to have Peralta over Strasburg tonight at +270? I congratulate anyone that did. I wasn't on that list. The problem for Peralta backers is that this is one of the largest dogs of the year so far and you will go a long time between hits like this.
So it is all just one big trade off. And there are cappers all over the world that make a lot of money using both methods. So this is PLU's thread and this is what PLU does. He does keep meticulous records win or lose and imo is a completely straight shooter. What more can anyone ask?
In the end those who like his style and respect him are going to tail and those that don't...won't. PLU's picks will either win or lose. Simple as that.
But every dollar I invest in any play is my total responsibility. If they win I will freely and liberally give others the credit but will take full responsibility if they lose. That is just how I approach the game.
For me it is just a more sane way to get through the day. Good luck to everyone on either side.

Been away for a while but checking in again after following you last year Pluth. Just read the last page and thought you must be having a bad year until I scrolled up to the record. Very strange that people criticise a guy with a winning record.

It's good to hear from you Lakey. I hope you've been well.
There have only been a couple of trolls so far and I'm hoping it stays that way. I think it's a combination of having so many more page views than last year and the quality of posters going down on SBR in general. (Excluding the regulars that post in here, y'all are great.)

There's really no reason not to play listed pitchers, unless you are simply unable to rebet for some reason and the pitcher doesn't matter to you.

I religiously list pitchers. Rarely do you lose a pitcher and they replace him with a much better pitcher.

It's an extra click for me. That's 10-15 extra clicks per day with the amount of bets I make. That's just exhausting....

True, but it works both ways. Take yesterday, por ejemplo, I didn't get to bet on Locke, but I didn't have to bet against Feldman either.
Playing listed pitchers is the way to go for sure, I'm just too damn lazy.
