John Morrison 2013 MLB Thread

Missed the V3 play on KC yesterday, of course glad now that it was a loser. Sometimes better to be lucky than good.

Just to back up what Hagball has written. Some years ago, back when I still believed in Morrison, he introduces his new idea - obtain what all the other Tipsters are picking and amalgamate them, thus separating the wheat from the chaff. Naturally, I thought this seemed a good idea and handed over yet more hard-earned. Equally naturally, as Hagball has stated, it's terrible, possibly the worst of a bad bunch. Lost a fortune. Some time later he admits this and says he has now picked out the good tipsters and his new system is brilliant. By now I had lost all confidence and passed on his generous offer. The moral of the story is - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

Hagball, I realize that it's possible to over filter things when it comes to systems, but I personally won't play a team if I can see that the starting pitcher isn't performing well at the time.

Also I look at the previous 5-10 results from the two teams that played each other before, to see the number of runs the team that swept them won by, when considering a +1.5 play.

Hope this makes sense anyway.

Do you think it might be worth looking at pitcher performance when system plays come up?

The system has blown that theory out of the water time and time again. I just look to make sure that in a 3 game series that I don't have the bottom 3 in my rotation against the top 3 rotation on the other team.

Notes: Nice pick up on the Indians yesterday. At least our record and Morrison's will only show one loss. The season is now over for official plays. Everything forward will be unofficial, however, I will note the plays that would normally be official just for fyi. There are 2 series left in the season that I will be playing extra units on. One of them starts today with the Yankees and the other one is Atlanta starting on 09/13. All of the other series I will look at on a case by case basis for my own personal plays. I will be playing the 2 other series today but for reduced amounts. We had 4 sweeps yesterday with only one future play.

P.S. Keep in mind that according to Morrison the season is now over. We will finish out the month of September in this thread like always. Most of the losses usually come at this time so be careful if you are playing them. It's actually been a pretty decent season for both official and unofficial plays. Some of you may have played that Toronto loss differently so it may not have been so bad. I will tally everything up at the end of the season and do a recap like I did last year so if you are bailing now I invite you to return at the end for the last post.
