White Sox have jumped out in front 4-1.

OTP may have been right. The Injuns may be squeezing the ball a little too tight.

OldTime Playa, I came on here specifically to look for your post on this. Good call. Cleveland's play tonight was inexcusable against a B-list ChiSox lineup. This has got to be demoralizing.

BTW, did anyone see the play, I think in the 9th, where the ball was hit to 1st and there was a rundown and eventual double play? ESPN seemingly was not able to have a camera angle to catch the runner on 2nd who failed to score the winning run when he totally should have.

Was anyone at the game or got to see a local affiliate's feed of the game which might have had the angle? That one play might have cost them their season right there.

Don't think its going to happen. They don't look good at all. Might be seeing a lot more of Boston - New York this season

OldeTymePlaya gets his props on this one as after the post the Indians lose to Kansas City and lose two of three to the Devil Rays, trailing 1-0 tonight in the bottom of 6th

We will definitely see what they are made of after losing on a can of corn to center. We have a good week of baseball ahead of us.

This might not be Cleveland's year, but they're not far away. They've got a very young team that brings back memories of their powerhouse teams in the 90s.

KC had runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the 8th and couldn't put an insurance run up. Cleveland then ties it up 4-4 in the 9th.....and as I'm bitching KC has just won 5-4.

Looks as though you may be off to a good start with your prediction. Royals up 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th. Will the Indians be able to keep their heads up after a loss?

Something tells me Chicago has righted their ship. I think both them and Cleveland will win out. Sox almost made me sick yesterday bringing in some Hansen guy who squandered a 2-0 lead before I could even figure out who the hell he was.

Sox can score runs like mad but their pitching can give them up at the same rate. I'm afraid to say it but I wouldn't be surprised if the Yanks pull out the division. Their pitching seems so much more superior right now and that makes all the difference in the playoffs. Indians have BOTH pitching and hitting working for them right now. I think they will win it all!

All I can say is, "At least we had 2004..."

Chicago still leads the central by one and a half games and still has the best record in the AL. Even if they lose their central lead they still lead Bod/NYY by three games for a playoff spot. Let's not forget that those two will be beating each other up to close the season. Chicago should make the playoffs barring a huge collapse this week.

Do you think Cleveland can score with the Yankees or Red Sox? or do you think their pitching can shut down the Yankees or Red Sox? I think they are playing extremely well at the moment, but playing inferior opponents. The Royals are very bad. I would love to see the Indians beat the Yankees or Red Sox, but don't think it will happen in a seven game series.

What's really sad is that the Yanks would have clinched the division already had they showed up and played in all those series against Tampa Bay. I'm a huge Yankees fan, but if their poor record against baseball's worst team keeps them out of the postseason, they've got nothing to blame but themselves.

The Indians are red hot. Yanks and Red Sox have a lot of pressure on them. They both are going to have to score a lot of runs to help their questionable pitching. I agree with you jj that the Indians are in. Yanks and Red Sox have to hope the White Sox lose 5 or 6 more this year.
