Twins manager Ron Gardenhire indicated in a radio interview Friday that while he didn't know how long Joe Mauer (leg weakness) would be out, it would likely be more than 15 days.

No surprise there. The bilateral leg weakness that Mauer is dealing with is a bit of an unknown, so it's tough to predict at this point when he might return. Mauer will not see a specialist in Baltimore Friday due to a case of the flu. The hospital even checked for an appendicitis, but he apparently just has good old-fashioned influenza. Mauer is expected to see the specialist at some point over the weekend, assuming he feels up to doing so.
