Just curious as to how you get paid.

Do you try to sell advertising space for your site or something?

i was thinking about starting a website where i blog and give out my sports picks for free. (not a tout) but just a free site and try to make it a career

Bear you're currently posting here on a professional blogging/forum site. This is as professional as it gets.
Look around...do you see all the banners? That's how they make the biggest chunk of their money. That plus I'm sure they get the cut of all the losses from players who opened their betting accts through this site.

Traffic is the key to this business.

Think how you're going to bring people to your blog?
Simply telling them that today you have 3 winning plays is not going to fly. You'd need to create something unique to make people want to visit your site.

good point. So a forum is pretty much the same thing as blogging.
